This is intentional. I guess the assumption here was that something relatively cheap should be used completely or destroyed, so people can't sell "used" powerups that only last a couple of shots. But I agree, it's pretty stupid and I can't see a REAL reason.
However, let me warn you: There were some NASTY bugs about removing powerups, and I don't htink they are fixed yet. What can happen is that when you remove the powerup, you reduce the weapons attributes FROM THEIR BASE VALUE, not from the current value. So, if your weapon was 1-100, you used a max powerup, with powerup it is now 1-150. Now you remove the pwoerups. Instead of going back to 1-100 the weapon went back to 1-50. Didn't always happen, but often enough. I never saw any announcement if this was fixed, but I suggest testing this with a CDEF weapon to maek sure it is before removing anything from your weapon...

Too late for that.. I wasn't actually paying attention to my weapon stats to notice any change.. oh well.. if I don't know it happened, then it probably didn't.. right? ![]()
Its really silly though.. I'd like to be able to swap powerups depending on what situation I encounter... like puting on a silencer or what not.
