Thread: Rifleman and Soloing. Is it possible without concealshot?

With doc buffs, I have no problem soloing anything without conceal shot. Of course, I do so with rebel missions or merc missions on Lok. I don't do worth poodoo against any creature that melees. I hit both bleeds, flurry shot, and startle shot when they belly down prone. Stunned and dizzy, they sometimes fall down (best case). Worst case, they are stunned and have a problem hitting.

I'm a 2/1/0/4 Rifleman and I would like to know if I can solo things like Pikets.

It is hard to find a hunting group sometimes on Dantooine (where I spend most of my hunting time) So I like to do my own missions.

I can do it with concealshot, but I would like to know any other technique that I could use (with my current skills) to solo without concealshot. Concealshot is boring and slow and eats mind (like every other special ) without muon gold.

I have a dizzy attack and a posture change attack. But can I knockdown a 4- legged creature with posture change/Dizzy? As far as I know I can't.

What are some of your personal techniques that you discovered while you were leveling Rifleman?

I appreciate any information. Thanks

No - you can't knockdown an animal with flurry and posture change.

The best approach is still to go up counter-sniping 3 for flushing shot - then use that on multiple mobs at once to rake in the XP. A pet used to help with this - but after tomorrow probably won't.

A pet used to help with this - but after tomorrow probably won't.

Wait, wait, wait, what's with pets?

CH is getting hit with a nerf bat. Non- CH's are also taking a hit. We can now only control a CL10 pet. No more cowardly gurrecks, the best we can get is a carrion spat LOL.

Seeing as I used no stims, no pets, no T21, crappy July weapons, more....I'd say it's quite possible to solo without conceal shot. Keep in mind there is not just one cookie cutter way to solo.

The best weapons? Simple. It is patience and strategy.

Best bet for me without a pet is to do large rebel missions.... not only do I get a chance for a possible holo but they dont melee you and with doc buffs the damage they do is negilible... plus it only takes about 2-3 flushingshot2's and you can kill the entire base.

I have tried argo fighting pikets. I am currently 4,3,3,3 but have been doing it for a while (though I like conceal better). Here is how I do it (stragety I got from these forums)... I MS2 then MS1 and peace. Move about 90m away (so I get a single pull) and wait. When the MS hits the Piket he will argo on me and start towards me. I wait till he's in range and use WariningShot then Peace. If it hits, he will turn away and argo will break. If it doesn't hit, this is a good time for supression fire. When the next round of MS hit him, he will typically be very very slow (distracting shot, hehe). I let the HS2 fly and kite till dead. Add water, mix and repeat

Bugs are the biggest problem with this (like the critter being 88m away one instant then 8m the next). Switching to a fast weapon for the warning shot is a good idea, but I usually just use my T21 through the whole thing. It can work, but plan on incap every 3rd or 4th fight, becuase you usually can't get 4 fights in a row without a bug (like reds spawing right on top of you during the fight, or another picket spawing right next to your mob 70m away from the layer and argoing on you). Lots of bugs, if they weren't there, I think I would just fight them all regular, it's so much faster.

Scope the area out before you start, try to find a good field where you can kite safely, and pray for no bugs. Good luck.

I mainly conceal shot and solo stuff. Of court I also use a t21, sliced for damage, with a powerup (I know lots of you guys think I'm wasting my t21). The max damage is at 577 I think and I can hit stuff that's armored for a good amount. If you're hunting pickets on dant, the AP is a huge bonus on them. You can probably do 2 missions in about 30 mins with a good t21, maybe less time. If you plan on using this method, I'd go up the sniping line so you don't miss as much (second miss = aggro). Once you get high enough (about 4-1-3-3) you can just use flushing shot 2 while running away from the pickets. A couple shots will kill them all.

P.S. If you're wondering how I can give this advice with where I'm at on Rifleman, I gave up most of the skills prior to chase the holocron.

have trapping 3 or 4and you can almost solo every creature using phecanine dart (dont know exact name) but what it does, is slows down a creature in its movement giving you enough time to land headshots

I take it you guys all hunt Pikets for the meat too? Personally I got all my Rifle XP shooting Mereks on Endor - they have 0% resist to Energy (I think Piket is 10-15% cant remember) and they give 4.5-5k per kill,

As for solo'ing Creatures without pets I have never tried it although i never use my pets anymore on Storm troopers etc - Strafe2 2-4 times and there mostly all dead - pets just make NPC's run away which is bloody ennoying,
