Thread: A view from afar..
Here is what riflemen need from my perspective.. no pun intended. yet.
riflemen require distance to preform properly -
I am oftened blocked by trees, rocks and other barriers, often not letting me attack. ( i know this is a bonus to melee units) but it seems a bit unfair. Standing from afar its often difficult to see where your victim (yes, you laugh)are located, since all you see is a object icon box to show you where your target is located.
*Riflemen should get a bonus - a line of sight bonus.
Adding to this idea, I feel that we are left out of the loop when it comes to (viewing combat, combat animation, upclose action) because we're so far away, unless you pull out the spraystick.
Riflemen -sniper - We should recieve a ZOOM action in order to accurately incapicatateour opponent with a FEW shots..of course with extreme modifiers to melee damage+++. but giving us a closer view to combat.
Riflemen - hunter - A hunter who show no bonuses to PET PVP ? why is this? hunters should be able use warning shot / threaten shot / snipershot on pets.
All i am saying, make the character fit his title. A sniper kills in one shot (i know its notfair so..)Why not limited powerups for sniping.. 10 uses instead of 100, but more damage. my mind seems to drain over the thought.
MIND DRAIN (PVP) - while a riflemen is prone, his mind cost is reduced by 25%-50%. I have been in numerous PVP BATTLES, and i can stay prone for about 2 seconds before i have to get up and run like hell...what good is prone when it takes a long time to fire (after going prone)and a long time to get up, when your opponent can run to you in a matter of seconds.
MIND DRAIN (PVE) - while a riflemen is prone, we should know when the creature is about to flee or have an inate ability to slow the target from fleeing.
theses are just ideas i came up with tonite off the top of my head..
and please. cant we see some blood, hey, even some puke would be cool.
ALSO - there should be a way to notice who isusing spices - maybe an altered state that is visible, maybe a faint twitch to an uncontrollable siezure, a tolernace to spices would be awesome for anyone who wants to trip (not inclined to just riflemen, but maybe smugglers.) I just feel that riflemen depend on spices, i know i love my muon, or else i would have quit star wars a while ago. sorry for getting off topic. heh
thanks for listening to my blatherings.

If Turrets can fire past 70 and I've seen some reach out to 80 and 85 meters, if (before the patch) Combat medics could engage out to 85 meters why can't riflemen? I think the Devs are afraid their baby Bounty Hunters would get owned at those ranges. Why are they just as or more accurate at maximum range with pistols, carbines, and LLC as the Master Rifleman is with T21
I hate to be the one to break it to you but BHs are far from the Devs favorite when veiwing the many nerfs to that prof and totl lack of defences. BH already get owned By ALL . I have a Rifleman/CH and never use my pets in PVP but havbe a very good kill ratio even against unfavorible odds however with my BH 4442 if its not one on one i dont stand a chance and even one on one Im not going to win against anyone that knows what they are diong or has a defence templet invloving ANY ranged Prof along with the related melee prof. cause i can never hit them. Even with the 120 accuracy i have i miss 10 out of 12 shots or so and due to the fact that my KDs are worthless that is assured death
I was a 2444 BH (meaning I had max skill in all three BH weapons trees) before my holocron turned me into a master rifleman, and believe me BH is no picnic in PvE or PvP. The reason you see a lot of successful BHs in PvP is some of the better PvP folks are BHs - in other words it is skill of the individuals, not the benefits of the class.
And BHs have been nerfed pretty drastically throughout their professional lives. The entire carbine tree is now pretty useless - knockdown is a rare thing, and as you know in PvP you don't play long shots, you go with what you know works. LLC is a great weapon, and eyeshot is a great special, but once you are master BH you have only 33 skill points left over - and of course 15 of those you are going to use for novice medic.
Whereas rifleman can pick up the entire TK profession. Which do you think is tougher - a master rifleman/master TK or a master BH?
The great benefit of rifle is the attack on the mind pool coupled with a lot of tactical flexibility.
Oh btw, I've also mastered commando, and again rifle is better.
I think that those are all good ideas but, from what i hear we want the devs to pay the least attention to the riflemen community as possible. Simply because if they do pay attention to us it will probably be in the form of a NERF...

Oh yeah, and if Riflemen get to see blood from afar when shooting, I want to see gashes, limbs dropping off, and missing fingers when I hack someone up with my sword.
me too!!
