Thread: How much of you Master rifleman *hide* your title? =]
I certainly do......one of the funnest things I saw was a commando going into bestine to kill a few imps, thinking he'd own everyone coming close to his flamethrower......I happen to see the guy on the overhead map and immediatly stood where I had a clear shot at 64m where he would come around the corner. The guy sees me on the map too...runs to my direction and WAM I click muon gold, do a strafe 2, first one hit(500 damage),,,second missed, but the guy then burstrun away from me....hahaha thats the funniest thing I saw. Needless to say because of my ever so uber loving it terrain negotiation and burstrun effeciencyskills from ranger...I caught up with the guy and popped em few seconds later =P
-------------------------- morale of the story-----------
"The enemy not knowing your strength, is also the strongest point in combat"
slowing down to learn how to counter the counter attack? not in the least........for one...its a tactical advantage if they dont know your strengths...and even if they do - the best way to counter a RMwould be either poisons, knockdown +dizzy ............so far....I minimise the chance of being in that position by
1- Staying away from a cramped place where things obstruct your view
2- Stand in between others so they have trouble targetting you out
3- always have the map open in battle to immediatly see where your opponent is
4- checking every place Im standing for a means of escape in case its needed (melee charging you)
5- turning every graphics low in a city wich could be a possible pvp enviroment ( I always do this...whenever I shuttle or fly with vehicle to a city, to prevent massive HD swapping
6- standing away from recruiters range to declare
7- avoiding blue masses in a hazerdous enviroment wich could be a covert using assist
8- never going in alone , being buffed (when moving INTO a pvp territory), stay with a doctor and assisting one in such areas
9- always timing the muon gold downer and retreating when I see my time is running out
10- possible targets, or targets that are far off....I examine them before engaging
and 11- when you start killing them with ranged DB and advanced strafe, they KNOW what you are, and I know they do
slowing down my learning process to counter the counter attacks? not really...since I always keep myself in a situation where their counter attacks cant be innitiated =)
I don't know if they PvP on your galaxy Myumi but having someone not know your skills gives you an incredible advantage. This applies mostly to melee but it's never beneficial for an enemy to have a surplus of information.
Maybe if you personally are in the process of learning how to PvP then it ... well no it is stupid and a sign of newbism to show your master title really unless you are in like a PvE guild and trying to show off to your noob guildmates.
Most players don't know what profession it comes from, plus it's one of the most bad-ass titles in the game

I know you're talking about the master rifleman title, but even as a master I always have my "soldier" title up.

Absolutely. Same here; I always roll with my soldier title up just because it's one of the best we have. They'll know who I am as soon as they see their HAM bars decimated in under 3 shots...
disply mster commando titel that he never changed
i did that for a bit but then i swiched it to my master tk and heck does it help ensted of chargeing me and making my ac wors they run and try to kit me lol makeing my ac better the farthere they get away lol wich = ded them lol
1) In large raidsI always go no title.
2) When defending my PC city I leave the title on.
Reason for number one, I want them to check there combat log to find out what I am and in a large raid it's hard to keep track of things.
Reason for number two, people do fear our title. As soon as I join the defence Rebs start leavin.
Solo or in a small raid it don't matter either way.
I tend to not show my title ... because, well it was said earlier, I like to have the upper hand. But what I don't do is decieve the opponent by using a low skill title like medic or something like that. Always when I read something of combat medic in the title ... I run like crazy ![]()
Pitty your title now shows when viewing the badges
