Not at the begining. Once you get flushing2, things go MUCH faster.
Either that, or use flurry shot to dizzy npcs and make them fall over. Then blast away. Nightsister Slaves work wonderfully well for this, except when they are melee.
Your only guaranteed way is to pick up CH. send pet in, spam shots or Flushing2 if ya got it. Everything dies.
i got fluhing 2. so now i just go to thisw reb npc base. they mob on me and i just spam flushing 2 on muon. drops them all in about 5 or 6 shots. then i repeat
My method for gaining XP is Pikets. How you do it depends on if you have CH or not. I don't so my method may be a bit different than yours. I take Piket missions on Dantooine. They are the 9k missions. Go prone, MindShot1, MindShot2, peace. Stand up and pull back to about 100m. Switch to DLT20a. When Piket charges I throw WarningShot on it to keep it away. Once the bleed ticks it to 1 point any hit will kill it. I group with a droid for the XP bonus for this. If you don't have a creature pet then do this. The XP bonus is around 20-25% more.
I have FlushingShot2 but as I solo (no pet tanks) it isn't effective in this situation for me. If you have a pet then you can do Piket missions. Send pet tank in to attack the nest. Then throw FlushingShot2 to damage all of them. A much faster method than what I use.
If grouped with a pet or droid. Then a Piket will be about 4k XP each. From a nest you will be able to pull nine Pikets. Plus another 4k for the nest. So 40k total if no babies spawn. Pikets are social but they don't DB. Also they are good for harvesting hides or meat for you to resell if you want. Just remember that if grouped (even if with a creature or droid) there is a harvesting penalty. So you may want to ungroup right before you harvest then group again.

But also, there, DANGEROUS planet. Can't go in single.
Every woman's teddy bear I had the same problem too. Then one of my friends suggested going to Dathomir and teaming up with groups for Rancor missions.
I made Novice Rifleman in no time.
Just use a couple Overcharge Shots here and there and Mind Shots.
Then again, it depends if your on a crowded Server or not.
