Heya guys, im pretty much new to the boards, Ive been playing for a long while on the Bria server however. Currently my character is a Master Dancer/Master Image Designer/Entertainer 4-0-4-4/Marksman 4-0-0-4/Rifleman 0-0-0-1. Im planning to drop master IDer for Master Rifleman...but I was wondering where you guys would suggest to a player who has really not had much experience with a combat character? Ive already got some good tips on equipment, but any suggestion as to where I should go for xp/what trees I should go up in first? Thanks for the help guys, take care!

I would say get Concealment I for Conceal shot... you can start doing missions without pulling aggros that way. HUGE help. If you're more into PvE than PvP, make your preference towards the Countersniping tree. It has two AOE shots in its highest ranks, which are more helpful than Surprise Shot or Sniper Shot. If you're going PvP, do the exact opposite, get up the Sniping tree. Sniper Shot is priceless in big battles. I'm 2-1-2-2 right now, although with the newest patch, I'm going to focus more on the Concealment branch. It holds Damage Mitigation I and II, which with the new battle system, are useful. Also, don't discount the Rifle Abilities branch, if you've got more than one place to spend your combat xp. Rifle Speed increases are very, very, very, very useful.... especially when you can trade in a speed sliced T21 for a damaged sliced one.

As for hunting places, Dantooine... hunting Voritors holds really reasonable XP, and great money too. The XP tends to be about 2000 per lizard. You could probably solo them (once you get good enough) to max out the xp. The Jantas are great XP too... and you can go to the Mokk village on the western edge of the world and pull mokks one at a time. Bleed + headshot + you running a lot = lots of good xp. Also, consider faction missions. I'm making about 4000c per mission now, with a total of 2000 rifle xp, 250-300 combat xp and 100-150 faction points. Not a bad paycheck, especially with vehicles.

Just my $.02. There's plenty of great places and opinions out there.

(Also, being you're an imperial on my server, I feel bad for telling you this, but buy a really good Jawa Ion Rifle if you pvp. It rips right through Composite armor... and it has a cool sound! Glok has some of the best around. The speed is already good on them, so a nice damage slice and you'll be up around 250-275 with it.)

Welcome to the Rifleman community.

I suggest climbing the second tier for the Damage Mitigation, and go from there. I'm still ascending the Rifleman skill tree myself.

Heh, thanks for the tips guys(dont worry undeadrooster, I hate PvP, just see it as a stupid contest as to who can grind the fastest/get the best items) Ive been hopping all over doing new stuff, down to Entertainer 0-0-4-4/Scout 2-0-2-1/Marksman 4-0-0-4/Master Dancer/Rifleman 0-0-0-1, so Ive got some points to work with now I did enjoy the whole Scout/Ranger thing earlier, so hopefully now I'll have a bit more fun hunting/sniping targets. Oh and btw: yes tusken rifles need to be kenetic, spraysticks need to be acid, and T21s need to do blast and have a lower HAM cost (120 a shot while in decent comp armor = quick mind drain )
