Thread: Am I wrong or does conseal shot still work?
I was running some faction missions and decided to test it out. So I would come up on an imperial base slowly. Pick a stormy and spam aim/conseal shot. Most of the time the target would start looking about until dead. Once in a while after a few shots he would come walking in my direction and engage at about 45 yards. But by that point the stormy would be mostly dead and one ss2 would take it out, with it's friends being completely oblivious.I did this about 10 missions this way. I did not not collect real statistics butI would say that overall it was less than 1 out of 5 that would even come my way.AndI never gotaBAF agro. Later onI went to do a harvesterrunon lok for a friend of mine. So I am zooming along on my swoop when I seea Kimo. So I park the swoop well out of the way andcome up on Kimo with maskscent and start spamming aim/consealshot at 64m. First it moved away and I had to peace and close again. Then it started heading towrds me. So I would fire a few shotsthen peace and move. It worked for a bit but then I must have let it into the 45m range (either carelss or lag, not sure which) and it charged and it was a quick trip to the cloningcenter.
Overall, I donot have any complaints.Personally I thought soloing Kimos and Krayts was a little silly (actually I was never able to do it myself, just heard annecdotes). Now you can't do that for sure. But other than that, it seems to work fine. You can still solo BAF mobs.
As far as I know it still works. I use it occaisionally on Fambas and the like.
either it will poof before you can knock off the 340k ham or it will stalk you and come after you the minute your maskscent or camo wears off.
the problem with krayts and kimos is they have a wierd bug that doesnt show them where they actually are server side. so they can be in two places at the same time. it is possible that a krayt that appears to you to be 64 meters away may in reality be either 120 meters or 2 meters away if the former then your good for shooting at it with conceal if its at 2 then your poodoo...
