My T21 has like 6 - 8 speed, I can't remmber right now. Something relly seems to be wrong if there is going to be a speed cap of three. What am I doing wrong?

Under the current rules, a Master Rifleman has a rifle speed of 90, 95 if they're a Master Marksman.

That means an 8 second T21 would fire at .8 seconds, or .4 seconds, except that there's already a cap of 1 second, on all weapons.

Specials multiply that time, up to 3.5 times the base, so, that .4 second at 95 is just 1.2 seconds maximum. If you have a rifle speed tape for even +2, it becomes less than the current 1 second cap.

The proposed (and only proposed), cap, long ago, was at 3 seconds, we have no idea what the CURRENT intent of the combat balance will be, other than the devs having apparently felt that pistols should be faster (max) than carbines, which should be faster than rifles.

We could see something like pistol cap=1, carbine cap=1.5, rifle cap=2. Or any other values the devs pull out of their heads.

Which would be okay as long as damage per shot was acceptable.. more accuracy too might be good.

I'd heard talk a long time ago about speeds of .5 1.0 and 1.5 for pistol, carbine and rifle respectively

lol speed is relative . Let me see any pistol beat the speed of an m249 in cyclic rate of fire . Pistols are in no way faster than a rifle and never more accurate . I bet I could almost shoot my bolt action as fast as a pistol . so much to cry about so little time .

I'm only a novice, so what should I do? What gun should I get?
