Well my xmas holo threw this up and at first i was not looking forward to it, the path thru marksman was slow and tedious, bad accuracy, awful speed, nothing special on damage. But once reaching Novice rifleman and becoming the proud owner of the T21 the profession really changed (Everyone says get a good speed on your first rifle...i went for damage, the way i lvl'd i took advantage of the fact you get 3 'free' shots when prone before they agro, obviously the more damage you do per hit the more chance you will have of killing them in that 3 and them never knowing you were there..FYI my rifle after slice and power up is 7.7 speed, 242-653 damage)
My grinding grounds were dantooine hunting savage quenkers, these critters have 4.5k HAM and can easily be solo'd with 2 or 3 headshots, more often than not they never even agro, and the best part they give 3.9k xp per kill. Normally 2 per spawn, 6 per lair, but if you group with some pets and get your mission level up this goes up (I was getting 5 per spawn when grouped with my atst) with 15 quenkers to kill each mission that wasa massive 60k xp on average, with no risk to ones self, for only 10 mins work =) As you can imagine lvl'n was fast! I went counter sniping 3 first, but the AoE shots were no good to this kinda solo'ing, so i switched over to the sniping tree for accuracy, this helped alot becasuse i dont think i missed once after getting sniper 4.
Anyway just thought i'd share my 2 cents for all those that are finding it hard or long to lvl, im not a power gamer i try to play a few hours a day thats all, havent used my next holo yet...i'll be out enjoying this profession, it is pve god =)

congrats, took me 2 months but that was back when it was a real achievement to make master and there werent very many of us masters around. Being master rifleman doesnt mean what it once did
being a Master of anything doesn't mean much any more. took me 2 months to master heavysword and i felt hey wow i'm a Master HeavySwordman there aren't many of me around i feel special.
but yeah mastering anything is easynow a days because of better weapons and we actually have skills to help us lvl.
if someone wanted to they could master anything in this game in 2 days other then the entertainer professions and of course BE and BH. smugglar you can master in 2 days but thatt would be a bitch to grind slicing.
On average I was doing 2 missions every 10 minutes at approximately 25k rifle xp each. Take into consideration that I was 4|1|1|4 this morning. IMO not bad, considering that my costs only were BoH use, rifle wear and bike maintenance.
Just like to say thanks for the 5 star post, and i hope those who need it found it helpful =)
Spent the evenin on SWG and i'm loving MR, it is worth every bit of the grind to be able to solo FS mobs in less than 30 secs...oh and drugs are bad...but moun is your friend =)
Next holo is CH so i guess this ties in pretty well with this, wish me luck, and hopefully i'll hang onto rifleman for the duration now =)
Happy hunting
I have already done the grind to Master Rifleman once, but I droped it a few weeks back because of the changes they did to melee/ranged D. I played around with Master Fencer for awile then decided last Thursday to take up Master Rifleman again.
For one I am hating every dang minute of the grind, I forgot how horrible Rifleman is to grind but I am only 950k from Master right now, this is how I did it:
Grab bolle bol missions, the ones that have 5 per spawn, full composite, dancer and musican buffs, food and possibly muon. You are able to stack the bleeds on all 5, and they cant get through the composite. If you can get another master rifleman to DoT and Tank for you, actually any class that has high damage DoT's can do it for you.
I might be able to finish up tomorrow, but the grind is killing me so I am probably just going to take my time and finish up Monday.
