Thread: ..capped dodge??
I planned on mastering a couple lines in pistoleer and fencer for the skill mods.. but it appears that they might be capped??
I used the http://swg.allakhazam.com charmaker to simulate this. Master rifleman, master marksman (already got those) then the rest.
Novice pistoleer with 4/0/0/0 gives a total of +80 to dodge. Yet it shows my char would have +35 to dodge....
I really don't get it. Is there a cap of some kind that I'm not aware of? Or is the charmaker inaccurate??
I really don't want to do all that work if I'm not gonna the full mods.
couple things: first off, the character builder is probably way outa date. (i know most are), so if you really want stuff to be accurate, open up the skillsheet in game and add it up by hand ![]()
secondly, dodge only works when holding pistols or 1hand (fencer) weapons - it won't help you with rifles. that said, at the moment, all other defenses stack (ranged, melee, defense vs status).
you do get a lot of nice defense bonuses from fencer that will help you when you're rifle'ing. (unless they nerf it,
but so what. being able to tank with melee is good).
thirdly, some fencers complained of broken dodge (they didn't feel quite as uber) after the last patch - this was due to accuracy of a lot of mobs/npc's being turned UP, thus it felt dodge wasn't working as well as it was before the patch. in reality, nothing was changed AT ALL with dodge, as of the last patch. fencer and pistoleer dodge still stacks - this is confirmed by Raphayl the UberCorrespondant ![]()
Anyways, i'm always harping at ranged/rifleman to master a melee profession just to give you that versatility, i encourage you to do the same. it's a lot of fun - g'luck!

http://swgcb.yogn.net/swg-cb.phpThat character builder is up to date... even has the new CH tree in it, as well as a lot faster and easier to use than the one at Allakhazam. For example if you want to master Rifleman, just go to rifleman and click the master rifleman box. Fills in all the boxes for you.
Thanks a lot. That really helps.
