Thread: Kill your FS NPC's While you can.
DOT resists are going into the next publish.
No more 1400 mind bleeds verse Jedi numb nuts NPC's.

I think it's long overdue that bleeds take resists into account.
Ya know what, maybe this is a good thing. Now we are the only thing that can solo FS characters.

but the tough FS npc's have 100% resists to all of our damage types, so will conceal shot even do anything?
Now if they finally made the tusken rifle kinetic, it would be a different story
I see this as another bad idea at present. As PC's have no resists (unless in armor which not everyone can wear) this only helps the MOBs. MOBs have recently had HAM increases, have armor and resists (with no encumberance), and get to use all those specials without regard to weapon type or at any cost (no HAM costs when they use them).
Looks like just another bad idea. All these changes for the new combat system I have seen is making the MOBs harder to kill while decreasing the effectiveness of the PC.

I agree with ITOAO. Should I be able to solo a 50K HAM nightsister, who has 100% resists to Energy, Stun, and Cold? The only way you could do it was by bleeding and running, and only because bleeds ignored defenses entirely.
But the new combat changes scare me. They haven't given out any hints that I've seen as to what they are going to change. Plus, how are they going to balance us vs. other professions? We are the only ranged weapon that does not have any other professions to gain rifle skills with. But I guess the only thing we can do is wait and see....

I think that is the problem. We really have no idea what it will entail. We have been left in the dark and just given generalaties so far. Some MOBs should be harder. However I have a problem with NPC's being excessively harder. They are after all of the same stock as the rest of us and should have the same limitations.
I have no problem with making Kimos and Krayts incredibly powerful. I do have problem doing so for some human in a robe.
The game is suppose to be about fun. Interacting with people should be an option, not a requirement. Again, I'm not saying I should be able to solo anything.
But humanoids shouldn't be exceptionally powerful. They are afterall the same as any other PC of the same species. Or should be for the most part.
I hope it does work out well as you say. But given the lack of information and the piecemeal implementation of the combat system, I'm having my doubts.
Tusk04 any profession can right now, all you need to do is place two bleeds on the sucker and do like this.

When the bleeds finish peace pop two more and
RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!
Keep repeating untill the MOB is at a couple HAM and finish em off.
