Thread: What attacks work the best in Rifleman?

I have a few questions for you fellow rifleman;

1. Which attack is better - Flurry shot 1 or Flushing shot 1?

2 Which attack is better - Flurry shot 2 or Flushing shot 2?

3. What does Strafeshot 1 do and does it cause more damage compared to other attacks?

5. What does Strafeshot 2 do and does it cause more damage compared to the other attacks?

6. Is Headshot 3 better than Headshot 2? (Heard the HAM cost vs damage is better with HD2)

7. What can you solo (without pets) without it having a chance to aggro you?

1. Depends on if you are alone or with someone who can KD. Solo, Flushing is better.

2. Same as above.

3. Strafe 1 is a pretty useless shot.

5. Strafe 2 is the best dammaging attack we have. It is AoE and affects random pools.

6. Head shot3 is draining out of proportion to its improvement over HS2. HS3 is only useful if you are buffed to the point of special costs not being relevant.

7. Almost anything using conseal shot + mind buff and a WHOLELOT of patience. Or almost anything unsing the bleeds + speeder bike and a WHOLE LOT of patienceapproach. I personally do not consider either to be a practical way to kill anything. Any other method will cause agro.

It really depends on what you are trying to do and who your opponent is and if you have friends or pets with you. The best advice I can give is to read some of the threads at the top of the rifleman forum like FAQ and others. All the information you need to answer these questions is up there. All the shots have their uses and work better in some situations than others.

My one example on this is Flushing shot and Flurry shot. I use flurry on NPC characters to knock them down when they change posture, but never use it on creatures since they never change posture.

Flushing shot does more damage than Flurry. Flurry has a dizzy component, flushing has a stun component. Strafe does by far the most damage, and can cause a delay in rare cases where the enemy is silly enough to take cover.

So the answer to your question is very complex. For pure damage Strafe2, Flushing, Flurry.

I usually open combat with either a normal shot, surprise shot or a mind bleed since the first attack will not hit multiple targets if you aoe. The shot order is determined by what i am fighting. If NPC's or PvP i will usually follow with a flurry2 to get them dizzy. This has several side effects all of which are good. I will follow with either a Strafe or Flushing depending on the situation. It is usually very good to stun the enemy early. If they are prone or kneeling the posture up is a nice side effect.

Of course all this goes out the window if the situation is different. Some opponents have their mind destroyed to win. In PvP i will usually wait till i see them heal to start on their minds, as it comes as more of a surprise and makes them afraid to heal again.

Hunting bigger creatures requires different tactics based on the creature. Always examine a creature befor opening fire. Find their weak resistances and capitalize on them.
