Thread: Is it true we are getting nerfed in next patch?

I was told last night that rifleman would be nerfed in this patch, this guy just talking crap?

No onw knows for sure but my arthritus always acts up before a nerf and it's acting up. But I really have nothing concrete.

We are a vital ingredient in an uber template. So either we get nerfed or the uber template does.

or neither, and everyone just sits back and waits to see what the HAM changes bring.


i vote the latter. at this point i'm almost hoping there is a nerf, just so these nerf posts stop.

Well true the combat changes are coming, it's going to be more than just a HAM change for specials. I think they said 3 steps.


1) Adjust Creatures


2) Adjust the HAM system


3) Adjust the Combat professions


Inbeween those steps is the DE revamp were they get kill offensive pets.

I am hoping they do nerf rifleman so those of us that choose Rfleman as are careeer path will be unique again and all the FOTM's dissappear.

Nerf's don't work, they need to balance the system as a whole and think about every action they make and calculate how it will stregthen/weaken other professions. Really the combat balance is not so bad now, some professions need some more beef but thats it.

I am starting to see a trend in recent months with the devs. I think they too ka step back after the pistoleer nerfs and the AT ST nerf and said whoa, wait a second, we didn't notice Rifleman/carboneer/commandos were busted. So far they have fixed two of those.I think they want Rifleman to be a FotM, which upsets me a bit, considering I have been one since late July. What they are going to do is use us as the test subject for the new HAM system. It makes sense. Which Profession is more demanding in combat on hap specifics? Rifleman, since we only use Mind and it can't be healed without huge costs, it makes sense. They set us up to where everyone is a rifleman or a TKM then when the new ham system comes out they takenots on how we are affected, then fix the other professions to match. When that is all said and done after phase 3 of the overhaul, they will probably put in a melee modifier. I don't think a speed cap is an issue for a nerf, as they already stated there is a coding reason why everyone is capped at 1 second. What I do see them doing is making some rifles alone while making others higher damage and slower speeds, so they will infact get the "speed cap" everyone else is so adamant about. Right now we are guinea pigs untill they evaluate how the ham system effects us and everyone else, then all at once, balance it out.


With the two different "uber" classes, TKM and Rifleman, I think they are still going to keep ranged and Melee in two different lights. I think the mitigation shows this. A melee shouldn't be able to kill a rifleman from afar(maybe a pikeman if they had a thrown spear like manouver) as a rifleman shouldn't be able to kill a melee from 5M. The upped ranges will not happen, due to server instability at long range, but I think you will see higher damage slower rifles for that sniper feel we all crave. They stated new weapons, that's what I'd look for in the future.


Not that I know any of this for sure, it just seems to make sense to me.
