I severely doubt that the Devs want everyone to be a Jedi. Believe me when I say I'm disgruntled also (not completely but its there) but seriously; I really doubt that they do.
The time will come when our tracking will work. When? No clue. But I really dont think they want everyone to ditch the professions that they've poured a lot of time into for people to play. The community would totally suck. Think about it.
With the holocraze in full swing, it sucks now. We had a new member join the guild I'm in the other day. Turns out he was very close to mastering weaponsmith. 'Great!', I thought to myself, 'our weaponsmith is very busy and we could use another!'. Talked to him yesterday and golly gee whiz; he'd dropped it to 'follow the hollow'. Sigh.
Again, the game is still young. Let's not regret yet.
