I repaired my t21 today...well attempted to and it fell apart. Whah! I thought...my nice and shiney and expensive t21. I was forced to use my laser. I noticed that my laser rifle does as much or more dmg than my t21. W T F. Why do T21s sell for 30 to 40k if a laser will do just as much damage? I do miss walking around with my t21 though. It looked cool.

I just gotta mention again, the T21...thants a good lookin riffle.

What target was it against? If it was AR2 orlower with a low resist to energy, Lasers usually match if not outdamage a T-21 due to their higher max damage capabilities. If a target is unarmored, AP is not taken into account on damage, thus both rifles get the same damage bonus. Odds are then, Laser will win once again due to the max damage being higher.

go fight something with heavyarmor, you'll miss your t21. also when you absolutely have to kill something *right now* you don't want to be rolling a 400dmg hit.

the reason t21s are so much more expensive is they are rediculously difficult to make.

The price difference is because of the resource requirements. The T21 takes four named resources (excluding advanced optional components). The Laser takes one or two. So in general it is more difficult to find good materials to make good T21's. Or any T21's in some cases.

Also you neglect to mention that the absolute best Laser Rifle will have about 700 max damage but only 70 min damage (after slice). An average T-21 will have over 140 min damage and about 400 something max (before slice). It's the min damage that makes the T-21 better. That and the AP3 =)

T-21's are also the only weapon in SWG that has the Heavy AP rating.............and I have to agree, the min/max damage on T-21's are good and are close together with a tighter damage radius, thus aiding damage mitigation...........

Rocket launchers are also heavy AP. However, why use one when you can use a flamethrower.....

The other answer is that the spam in the combat window will be about the same or higher, with the occasional really low hit. The actual damage (overhead) is not as high as the T-21 in many cases.

what's a laser rifle? if it's not a T21, it's a jawa ion or bowcaster in my paws.

you can substantially boost the min dmg on a laser rifle (with a 'stock' component (NOT powerup) used in crafting, if I remember correctly)... but the HAM cost will shoot up dramatically. the laser is too inconsistent for me to use... I prefer a decent E11 if I want an AP2 energy rifle.
