Thread: Knockdowns, etc.
I am currently at 4-3-1-2 in the rifleman tree and have noticed that we do not have an effective knockdown compared to other professions. We have flurry shot which OCCASIONALLY makes someone dizzy preventing them from standing, but that is quickly reversed by a doc with a anti-dizzy med. It really is annoying when you can be kd by almost every other profession, yet we cannot do very much.
Is there any rifle that does any damage besides energy (excluding the Tusken) that has a high amount of damage like a laser rifle, etc? My laser rifle is 65-550 without a powerup, but many creatures are resistant to energy which makes it practically useless at times.

Nothing we can do about the lack ofa realKnockdown. Dizzy works pretty well against some NPCs, and if you can get a PC dizzy without a Doc around, you havea chance, though slim, of obtaining a KD, but do not expect to rely on it.
T21, E11, Spraystick, Laser, and Tusken are all energy. Although, the Spraystick is supposed to be Acid, and the Tusken is supposed to be Kinetic. These may or may not be fixed.
SG82 is Cold, but it is AP0 (no AP). The SG82 is useful against targets with Cold vulnerabilities and high resists against energy, but it has no AP, so it is not that useful.
Jawa is Stun, and AP1 (light AP). Jawa is good against most armors because they typically have stun vulnerabilities.
Isn't the E11 supposed to be Heat damage as well? I'm probably wrong..
And yeah, the lack of K.D is a little annoying but I can live with it.. I think I have only successfuly K.D'd a couple of people in PVP using the Flurry / Suppresionfire combo.. But when it works it just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
I have not heard that the E11 was supposed to be Heat, and I would be surprised if it was. The E11 is AP2 and is basically a faster Laser with lower ham costs and a tighter damage range (higher min/lower max) with a slightly lower average damage. I cannot see them making it heat as well.
I think the T21 was originally Blast damage, but that got changed for some reason, and I have heard no hints of it being slated to be fixed. I think the Tusken and Spraystick will be eventually.
I have never tried using Dizzy in PvP, but then I do not PvP much. However, I have used it some what successfully in PvE against NPCs who like to change posture a lot on their own. My favorite occurance was when I hit about five NPCs with Flurry2, kited them when they came after me and killed them all after a protracted battle. When I got back to the orginal postition, one of them was laying on the ground in near full health, knocked down just waiting for me to kill him.
I do not use it much except for amusement. hehe
I'd recommend keeping with energy damage. Get a T-21, Tatyana on Rori makes good, SUPER cheap ones. If they, the MOB, are 20% resistant to energy, you get a 70% damage INCREASE over the combat spam numbers due to the ap3. An E-11 will work wonders with anything less than 55% energy resist, you will still be "gaining" damage due to the ap2.
I used a Tortilla E-11, speed sliced, for my leveling. The fast attack speed, low HAMs, tight damage spread, ap2 can't be beat.
*note: all numbers mentioned above are assuming no armor on MOB. Subtract 25% for each level of armor.

i remember reading somewhere on the forums that it was at one point, good ol stealth nerfs.
as for kds, id suggest finding a caribiner friend...
flurry 2 + thier area kd = ownage
You're right Sotaudi.. My mistake, for some reason I was under the impression the E11 Carbine was Heat damage and it isnt - the EE3 carbine is Heat damage.. DOH!
The fact that I thought the E11Carbine was doing heat damage was what lead me to believe that our E11 Rifle should be heat damage also.. haha! I should have checked my notes before posting.
Bummer! That would have been nice... But I sure do hope they fix the damage types on the Spraystick /Tusken soon and ( on the wishlist ) put the T21 back to Blast damage.. It'd be nice to have the variation in damage types ![]()
And yeah Flurry and Flurry 2 work wonders on the NPC Pirates on Lok.. Yarrrr Shiver me Timbers.
