I wont lie to you, leveling at low levels is hard. If your not atleast 2 tiers into Rifle Special abilities, your going to have a tuff time.

Tip 1-

First off, Im going to give some helpful advice on how you should start your spec. HS3 isnt all that great, its mind costs are just huge. The damage isnt even that high compared to other mobs. But however, first thing first is MS2. (Sniping 1) No doubt In my mind I could have never got to Master Without MS2 and MS1. (**sideTIP if you dont have Warning Shot, get it**) Now after Sniper 1, you should go straight for Counter-Sniping 3. This gives you flushing shot, its AoE, it Stuns, and it does more damage then HS3. (random pool however) After this, you should proced back up the Sniping line for accuracy. At the moment, getting concealment, is a complete waste of points until you have too. Nothing in that line works, just get it for going to master.

Tip 2-

At lower levels, a good place to solo is on Tattoine. You can also make mass amounts of money here too. A creature called Banthas, there are many different types. There mostly found around Mos Taike, however at higher levels you can get them as missions. They harvest for wooly hide, and I have sold these hides for 8-1, and I bet it could go for 10-1. Depending on there HP you should MS. Feral Banthas have low HP, and at lower levels (novice rifleman or lower) You get around 800 XP for these and you 3 shot them. There are higher level ones, wich you will want to MS1,MS2,HS, kite and HS. These run as fast as you, so if there at 30 meters away, they will stay at 30 meters away.

Tip 3-

NPCs, for the higher level rifleman, (tier 3 in Rifle Special Abilities) you have an extreme advantage over NPCs. You not only shoot pretty fast, you have a few AEs. Im assuming everyone this high has Flushing Shot 2, Starlte Shot 2, and Flurry Shot 2. Now these are AEs, so make sure you have some stims as back ups. Start of with 1-2 Flurry 2s to make sure everything your hitting is dizzy. Now NPCs, that are not melee seem to love to go kneeling or prone. And when they do , they fall down for liek 15 seconds. Now if somehow they make it to kneeling or prone, and have dizzy on them, throw in a startle 2, this will rise there position, and they will fall. You should use Flushing 2 as your main DMG dealer, since you are using AEs. You need to hit as many as you can at once.

A NPC on Tattoine good to XP for at higher levels. Alkhazm (dont know real name), they are missions on Tattoine. I got mine around Bestine. They are mostly white con and at higher level give you around 1k-2k XP per.

The big thing to doing NPCs is dizzy. Every NPC but melee NPCs, change postures alot. Why? I dont know, but abuse it with dizzy so they all fall on there backs for 10 seconds of free shooting. After a while you want to put another dizzy on so when they get up, they fall down again. It seems they replace the timer for dizzy, but Im not 100 percent sure.

Tip 4-

In PvP, now if your not Master Or you dont have Rifle Special Abilities 3, you honestly should not be PvPing. You will be at a sever disability with speed. With Strafe Shot 2, and a DLT20a, I 2 shot people. Since it does random it takes 2-6 shots for me to kill people. Now, if your gonig to go solo PvP, I suggest you get a octor to buff you before you go out. Becuase, let me tell you, today I never need a heal. I take 500 dmg, big deal, I still have 1500 more to go becuase Im buffed. 7 of us were buffed, and we took on 30 rebels who kept chaining towards us non stop, they would cloan and come right to us. Buffs help, wich is why Im going doctor as my secondary spec. Another thing to consider while soloing, is who your fighting. Becuase like it or not, people with sunburn can still spam knockdown. (a food that does near +1500 to secondary stats) And they can take down 2 of these. Now if there not using sunburn, they will only use knockdown once, or twice. Chances are, we wont win vs knockdown. Wich is why when you solo, take into consideration who your fighting. Otherwise, bring 2 friends.

Tip 5-

Regarding weapons, make sure you all go get new weapons. With this patch they can make weapons better. Now you want to have near every different type of weapon, I have everysingle one thats ever been available on my server. Whats funny is we lost the resources for Jawa Ions, and SG82s. I get all my weapons for free so its a bit easier for me. The reason for getting all weapons, is becuase of damage type, AR, and Speed. When XPing you want to take into consideration what kind of resists they have, and what AR they are. Alot of things have low stun wich is why Jawa has been my favorite in XP. (**sideNote SG82 Condition was fixed**)

Tip 6-

Slicing. Now with slicing it really depends on how high up you are, what weapon ect. So make sure you buy atleast 3 of the weapons you want. You can always sell these away fairly easy in your local city. At lower levels you naturally want it all speed sliced, becuase speed is always better for XP. But as you get higher, and start to PvP, your going to want damage slices. When you get your stuff sliced, make sure there a master smuggler. Why you ask? master Smugglers can get up to 40 percent slices, were normal can only get 30. They also never fail, and they tend to have more money to buy better weapons for the slicing kits.Try and go to the same slicer everytime, eventually they will give you discounts, and that way you can trust them.I get a min. slice of 28 everytime, and If I dont get a damage slice, I dont pay. Becuase I have gone to him for over 100 slices .

Tip 7-

They have increased decay rate with both sliced, and non-sliced weapons. Keep an eye on your weapons dont let them get below 50 percent. At 60 percent get it repaired.

Tip 8-

Regarding Armor and AR issues. As of right now, your better of no armor then you are with armor. (unless vs pistol) Becuase with no armor, everything is AR0, but with armor, if there is an AR bonus, guess what they will hit more on you with armor, then without. Until this is fixed where clothes, as most rifleman do. Even when this is fixed, Im not even sure if I will wear armor

Tip 9-

Skill Enhancments, keep an eye out for these. I have seen some awsome enhancments, most to rifle speed I have seen was +15 or somewhere around there. Forming up groups for nightsister fort is a good idea. TheElders drop stuff like Jedis, +22 stuff.A good thing to look for, melee toughness. I have been trying to get some melee toughness tapes for the lastweek. I dont want to be hit so hard anymore At lower levels look forRifle Speed and Accuracy, at higher levels look for melee toughness, block, dodge, and maybe even some accuracy while moving.Although block doesnt work right now, when it gets fixed you will wantit, so keep these tapes in your basement.

Thats all I can think of, post all your tips here you have for the lower level, and even higher level rifleman. Even if it seems like everyone should know about it, post it becuase some Rifleman may not. Good luck to all of you, and remember, Rifleman Are the NPC farming Gods. Atleast at master.

Aldeon, thank you for consistantly going above and beyond the call of duty, both in your testing as correspondant, and your guidance as a master rifleman.

I just wrapped up the Sniper 1 slot today, this post helps point me in the right direction.

I think its worth to mention the fixed supression shot. I used the mindshot combo with the warning shot jojo a lot, but just spamming the mob with flurry shot/supression shot is pretty funny and less hassle. (I often had the dotted mob running out of exp range because of warning shot, thats not a problem anymore)

For spamming the effect shots like wwarning shot, supression fire and flurry (when the bleed does the real damage) you could take a cdef rifle. Seems to hit pretty good while in movement and you dont feel the ham costs.

well you can't say SoE is just in it for the money, because if they were they would open up classic servers and double thier income.

AldeonAvardulin - how is doctor working out for you? My current plan is to master rifleman, take a bit of swordsman for the mind attacks, a little CH for a low-level high-value HAM ball (taming 1 and training 1 gets you a 8000 HAM greater sludge panther, I'm told), and the rest into medic. I had never considered takingmedic/doctor. Are you planning on mastering doctor (or have you already?), as it looks like only 18 points remain. I would have to put that into scout and explore 1, which means no ranged support, including warning shot.

Anyways, just wanted to see how it's working out. Sorry for getting off-topic.

I plan on going 4 4 4 0 in doctor. I have guildies who will craft for me. The advantage is, buffing yourself, making pistols take 5 minutes to kill you. Also, you get cure everything but fire. So you dont have to worry about poison ect.

How about PvE going solo? Since I don't plan on doing much, if any, PvP until nearly master rifleman, I want to make sure whatever I do will work well for PvE as well. I assume it would work very well, especially since almost nothing does mind damage. But I've never done any healing while in the middle of a fight, so I don't know how well that works.

It helps alot, so if your doing NPCs, you can take alot more damage(range), however vs most high level melee we get hit for like 6k, so it doesnt help out there

Just wondering, why should I watch out about my weapon condition dropping below 50%?

Your weapon will be destroyed more, if its below 50 percent. Meaning when they try and repair it has mroe of a chance to go pop.
