I am currently a carbineer and i use armor all the time when i hunt or pvp...as i see myself very close to the enemy alot..i was wondering if Rifflemen use armor at all or recomend it as i will start pursuing MR soon.... I never seen rifflemen with Armor on i was wondering if thats just the few i see that dont like it or its just not needed since you usually are far away?

I use full composite armor, even though I have a lot of decreases, i don't pvp with armor on

PSGs only

Sometimes I'll run faction armor but other than that no. PSG's break too fast and are still bugged and most armor and especially helmets have too high of an encumbrance to wear.

right now in PvP I use a set of Bone Armor made with Krayt Scales, gives me a little bit of protection, I'm probably going to pick up a suit of composite for PvP soon as well. But for PvE I never used armor until I started leveling TKA, of course I had pets, which I guess sort of count as armor.

Full suit of Composite with 75-85% resists. Wear it in PvE mainly but I'll use it in PvP on ocassion (with full buffs and mind buffs as well).

A suit of advanced bone made with voritor scales. 42% Energy and 4% kinetic special protection. Post slice the whole thing isunder100 mind enc. I wear it for PvP& NPC mobs along with a PSG. PSGs rock and all you have to remember is to cycle it off and on every time you zone (I just cycle it before a fight).

For PvE vs critters I wear a suit of Mubari Armorweave optimized for encumberance. I believe it is about 9% for a numer of damage types, kinetic being the most important.Sliced it is under 90 mind encumberance.

Before you laugh at either,keep in mind that without AP (most mobs and most players) damage is reduced 50%vs armor before anyarmor speciffic reductions come intoplay. I have found both armors above to be much more effective than not wearing one. And they are both affordable enough to have every single piece sliced to your liking.

As a carbineer i used to wear a full suit of padded and a composite helmet. required me to buff myself everytime i went hunting. Now as rifleman I only where the leggings mainly because they have a rifle +2 speed modifier. If the prey gets to close and i notice it hitting mostly my mind I will quick select my composite helmet. With this combination and moderate buffs 800- 1000 pts on health and action only. I can stand in close to any creature and take damage while others shoot from a distance, of course i plug away on autofire with a spraystick.

I also use a full set of Mubari Armorweave. Can't remember the exact amount of mind encumberance since I'm at work but it is low and unsliced. I've been toying with the Idea of getting the hole set sliced but haven't really desided. Any opinions on If and how I should get it done?
