Thread: Bounty Hunter vs Rifleman/Riflewoman :)
Fairly well so far, although I don't think I have ran into the ones that really know how to use their profession. Every one I have fought so far has stuck to one weapon/one shot approach. I know that if I was running a BHI would probably open up with the Eye Shot to get a blind effect, then switch to a carabine for the KD, then use LLC vs a KDed opponent before switching back to either carabine or pistol for the remainder of the fight to target the pool where LLC shot landed. None of the BHes I fought ever tried anything like that. If they just spam their "best" shot vs me spamming my best shot, they generally lose. If they spam the eye shot, the overall damage is generally low and my helmet plus PSG take care of the bulk of that. LLC is slow and misses a lot (which is why I would want to KD an opponent before whipping it out). Carabine is great for KD but can not finish me off before I get up. I have also not seen my opponents use speciffic pool targetting attacks that pistols and carabines have. They seem to go with higher damaging random pool attacks. Riflmen typically sacrifice action and health for higher mind. If I was fighting one I would try to expoit it. Even if you assume that those pools are buffed, you are still better going against a single buffed pool rather than randomly hittingthree buffed pools. In short I am sure there are real tough BHes out there who would kick my ass. But so far I have not ran into any of them.
Well, when fighting a simple 1 on 1 it all depends on whattactic the other player uses. As said before those that tend to use only one weapn and spamming their best shot tend to die very quickly. If hehas a carabine in his hands, well then you're in trouble, maybe you should stay at max range, keep moving and hope he doen't hit you before you can get dizzy/posture change on him ...but mostly they stay with eyeshot or llc.
In a big battle I don't think BH are as effective as you, they have no really good AoE attacks. Appart from that his strength lies in his kd ability and finishing the target off with llc. But if someone heals his target or other players are close by he only has the option to charge them using his llc cone attack (and most probably die) or disengage and fall back.
You on the other hand can dish out huge ammounts of damage at greater distance (16m << 64m) with ss2 safely staying behind your tanks and then range db them.
All this might be completely wrong, but it is how I experienced fights with/against (master) bh. And all this doesn't take into account the possibility that a bh could have quite some skills in carabine or pistol, which would mean that they would use a completely different approach.
But then again, you don't have to be only rifleman. I'm working on master carabineer atm for their kd ability; combined with rifle AoE dizzy that should be quite nasty. (yes yes that is my holo grind too, but I'm not going for my FSCS
)

Those on my server who have learned this do give a good run but in the end it all depends on who gets the first shot. It'll also depend if they have any defense mods from pistoleer or carbineer. Most if not all bounty hunter dabblers pickup Eyeshot Expert (Expert Bounty Hunter - BH Pistols 4) and spam the crap out of eyeshot. Just make sure you have some muon or food buffs to pop when needed and these guys go down fast. It's also been my experience that a good T21 and head shot 3 (while buffed and/or spiced up) will drop these guys in a few shots.
As for master bounty hunters, once again it varies with the player. Some know how to use their skills and others don't. Usually if I know I'm going to have to face one in a fight I wait for him to take some damage then blindside him or try to jump him with the 'ol jawa and drop him to the ground dizzy. Once on the ground pull out the heavy bat and hit 'em with your hardest shots. I've found that a few flushing shot 2s into the target will pick them up and let them fall back down. Also it tends to hit harder than strafe shot 2 at times.
I do not PvP much, but I have run into BHs on two occasion.
The first time was when I was at a factional base, and the BH was attacking some guild mates. I was not buffed nor did I have armor at the time. I picked upa TEF intentionally by healing one of my guild mates so that I could engage him. Oh, and I was not a Master Rifleman at the time.
He started spamming eyeshot, and I hit him for Mindshot 1 and Mindshot2. Then started shooting headshots. I had to disengage shortly because I had to jump into the fray quickly to protect my guild mates, and I had not even taken any muon gold. He got a dizzy and posture change on me, and I got knocked down because I foolishly tried to stand up. I evetuallygot up, but by then I had taken to much damage and he killed me. But he, too, was out of mind at that point because of the bleeds, and had to leave the area. Had I taken muon gold or some other mind buff, I would have won because he was only one or two shots away from being dead when I went down.
The second time, I went on a raid in response to an attack on my guild's city. During the fray, I faced off with a Master BH, and he tried spamming eyeshot on me, and I quickly dispatched him with headshots and snipershot. I was a Master Rifleman at this point.
So of the two times I faced BHs, I won once and lost the other time but was successful in driving the enemy away from the base.
