Thread: Crazy idea...
Ok, we all know that there's all these people griping about not being a "sniper". I think there should be a new weapon (sniper rifle) that has upped range, upped damage, upped accuracy, and slower than anything (20-30). Ths would give more of a feel of being a sniper, because you have to take the time to align your shot and by hitting them in a dangerous area, would increase the damage. Just a crazy idea to throw out....

lower the speed, wouldnt want a master to drop that down to just above T21 speed now.
only problem is that the dev's have already said that the game is not designed for ranged combat beyond 64 meters. Apparently there is no discussion on the issue of range. 64 max forever.
i don't want to hijack this thread, but don't any of you feel that in regards to our sniper line with its accuracy mods combined with headshot, a t21 and sniper shot that we are basically as good as it gets? 1 good headshot3 & i'll do at least 900dmg - for most pvp situations that's enough to put the other guy down.
Trust me, i would love to have some more weapons to choose from, but i certainly don't want to ask the devs for a 18/20 spd, 200mind weapon just to 1 shot some larger MOB's. I'd rather get the spraystick fixed back to acid damage and/or tusken to kinetic.

I guess we are hanging onto the hope that the Re-developed combat system might address the range issue.
And yeah, at the moment we are working really well and I am getting a huge buzz out of the profession. Major Kudos to the Devs for fixing us to the stage we are at now ( lets hope we dont get nerfed ). That being said though there is always room for improvement... It'd be nice to have things like a super Sniper Rifle to look forward to in the future.. I intend to keep Rifleman as my primary profession so chages like that are really appealing.
I definitely think we should get the damage types of our current weapons changed to what they should be first though.. Spraystick = Acid and Tusken = Kinetic. Don't go building new weaponry till those are sorted.

Range Modifiers:

Maybe something like that - would be great though. Trouble is I think it would look stupid given SWGs idiotic bullet-terrain modelling (Shooting through hills etc.)
