Thread: A little profession balancing idea.

I gave up rifleman a little while ago because I'm afraid of the impending nerf bat. Whiners seem to run the game so in effort to counteract them I have a small idea to save the rifleman profession.

Assult or sniper, you have to pick one. The biggest problem most people have (whether thats the way they say it or not) is that you can use two completly different styles or rifle skills at the same time.

Snipers use stealth and high damage with a low rate of fire to get the job done. As we all know, stealth isn't something that works right now for rifleman. But, they shoot in the head, as youcan, making quick kills.

Assult uses high speed and still damaging weapons to get their job done. The difference is most assult guys aim for the body in the heat of combat because it presents a larger target. When bullets are flying, putting 3 quick shots in a guys torso gives you a better chance of taking him down than trying to shoot your lower accuracy weapon at the guys head.

Basically right now you use some very good skills from both. Speed of an assult rifle but the accuarcy and head shots of a sniper rifle. As you can see this does tend to piss some people off. To save yourselves from a total nerf you may have to select one or the other. Otherwise you migh be going the way of the CH if all the whiners have their way.

Some ideas:

-Fixing cover, sneak and all stealth related skills, priority number one for the rest of this to work.

-For high damage head shots, be able to use only "sniper rifles". Slow but awesome damage. You would have stealth on your side and cover would give you awesome benefits on defense for ranged. But, in that mode you would be VERY vulnerable against melee.

-Keep the rest of the assult type rifles in the game like they are, T21 etc. These would use the rest of your skills like SS2 etc. I have a hard time believing that you can pop me in the head while I'm moving with that gigantic gun. Now spraying down insanly fast rounds with high damage, thats what it should do.

Flame away, but at least I tried. I'm just don't want to see rifles nerfed into uselessness.

There will be no nerfing without a fight.

Personally I think we should have both assault rifles and sniper rifles. The main problem at the moment is that all rifles end up looking like assault rifles due to the poor way that rifle speed is implemented, rather than sticking in some arbitary speed cap they should actually capall weapon speed skills to +90 and rethink the rifle stats to give us two distinct sets, sniper and assault, with a variety of damage types.

Great idea, goes along with what I meant.

Aye, you'll have to pry the T-21 out of my crisp chard hands before I allow them to nerf our class.

i don't know why i'm going to tell you this.... but...

all you would have to do in order to make headshots more "sniper-ish" (slow) is adjust the delay modifiers on headshots. right now, headshot2 is a 1.75 second delay on top of your weapon speed delay. if you wanted to make it sniperish, bump it up to 2 seconds, for example.

but um. leave it alone dammit. go nerf something else. haven't you seen how much dmg a CM can do with your average 600 point area mind poison tick? go nerf that - you can kill 2000 mind in 15 seconds (don't quote me), in pvp, and there's no chance of dodging or resisting unless you're a doctor. fuuuuun eh?
