Hey all - any news on whether the Tusken and Spraystick are even being considered for having new damage types?

I want the Spraystick w/ Acid and the Tusken w/ Kinetic like it used to be.

So these guns actually did the correct damage at one point? Did they have any reason for taking that away?

The Tusken was kinetic once, but it broke several months ago and the devs have not responded to any of our complaints.

I hope so too, I spent the weekend on Dathomir (first time since Master) and could take on, with some chance of success anyway, almost all the creepy Nightsisters and Singing Mountain Clan NPC's I ran into, except Nightsister Protectors, Spellweavers, and one other type I cant remember. They had 100% resists to everything... except kinetic & blast! Could lay bleeds on them, take them down to 1 mind (with AT-ST and without, and yeah, I know that ability is gone), and shoot shoot shoot as they walked away with no effect. One headshot with a tusken would of been the iceing on the cake... please fix our rifles!!

I'm a master rifleman and I do a lot of high level content in small groups. Now here's the kicker:


Resistances

--------------------

100% Energy

100% Acid

100% Stun

100% Cold


15% Kinetic

15% Heat


Try fighting the Nightsister Protectors with a rifle and other NPCs -you can't. This new rifle on TC - meh. Doesn't really help that much. We need a kinetic gun - I mean bullets people. The Tusken is energy not kinetic for those who've examined Tuskens. I can hit initiates and rangers - more or less it - oh and the 383-440K HAM Elder. I have the complete range of guns and can't do much with a lot of high-level NPCs except watch Pistoleers/Commandos/Melee Work - at best bleed a pool that no one else hits.

yep, but could be worse.. could be a TKA, with their single damage type-- kinetic (speaking in general terms, of course... they'd be fine against that nightsister)

Or just cap resists at 95%.

even so.. at 95% resists, are you going to stand there and duke it out with a 10k + ham mob? i wouldn't-- just from a time factor. who wants to have to dish out 200k worth of damage to kill something (to one pool, i might add)

Disclaimer: This is speculation.


I am speculating that when they "rebalance" rifleman (as they are planning on doing with all combat professions), they will fix the AP system to work the way they intend it to work. That means that AP will reduce resistances. So, with a T21 (AP3) against a nightsister (at 100% Energy resist), the AP would reduce the resistance to something like 25%. (Guessing 25% per AP level.)


While this is a relatively cool thing, the "plan" will effectively make AP useless against non-resistant targets as it will not allow a damage increase for beating the opponents AP or Resist totals.


So in my oppinion, they will be trading the currently borked system for a different borked system. Either way, has it's pro's and con's. Only time will tell how bad it will get for us.
