is being nerfed, or so I hear. Anyone care to enlighten me as to what is being crappified?

Well, DoT staking is going away. This doesn't nerf Riflemen specifically, but we will no longer be able to apply both mindshot 2 and mindshot 1.

I suppose those most nerfed by this will be Bounty Hunter/Pistoleers that could formally stack 3 health bleeds.

So there is not going to be a speed cap applied? Is this the only change?

Haven't heard about that, I know the idea is out there, but there wasn't anything about any speed caps in the Test Center patch notes. Personally i expect to see stuff like that come out with the major combat overhauls, like maybe in 3-4 months or so.

So the ONLY thing that's being changed about rifleman is the stacking bleeds? Can someone confirm this?

It's not benig changed in Riflemen, it's being changed in ALL combat systems. Not a horrible nerf by most nerfing standards.

If you want to confirm the changes (and there doesn't appear to be any specific to riflemen), go to the TC forum or the In Testing forums and do a quick search.

the truth is, no one knows.

aside from the 1 dot per pool limit (that nerfs everyone).

the whole speedcap issue was something that ThunderFart "THREW OUT THERE" (This was merely an idea, not "it's going in the game") that people started ripping their panties off and wearing them on their heads about...

and it was "thrown out there" back october! (or november?) and has yet to be taken any further to anyone's knowledge. right now it's merely a rumor.

no one knows of impending nerfs to our profession.

There is also the POSSIBILITY of defenses not stacking -but no one knows untilthingsgo live.

play rifleman as it is now, not as it "maybe might possibly speculatively be" in the near future.

Okay so Rifleman is stayin the same.

Now I am wondering if I should stay rifleman or go doctor instead.

But I am TKA 4-1-3-3

and I noticed you're a def. stacker, Although I consider it a legitimate tactic, I also consider it cheap.

Yeah but Riflemen get the REALLY BIG guns that go BOOM and wipe out those rebel NPC's in one shot

Come on man, it's not cheap... It's not C-H-E-A-P at all, in fact it's dang expensive skillpoint wise. I'm betting Jeisyn doesn't have any SP's left after building that template. Defense Stacking is also one of the only ways a Wookiee like myself can be formidable in PVP and in some cases PVE, once it's changed / gone who knows what it will be like, god forbid, I might have to take up Creature Handling again.

I don't think it's cheap at all, it just needs to be tweaked with a Soft Cap of some sort.. Balanced and instead of stopped completely, I guess we are just going to have to wait and see. eh?

that's actually kinda funny -when i was a Master Rifleman, Master Marksman, Doctor 0340 - dead enemies called me "CHEAP" because i "Had to fight with buffs".... so - i guess doctor/self-buffing is cheap too? (not a flame, just a rebuttal).

and yes, my template works out to exactly zero skillpoints. and i still have to make LOTS of money to pay for doc buffs, food, spice, powerups, weapons, armor (though i don't wear it often), constantly travelling/cloning/insuring in new places because 90% of my time is spent pvp'ing...etc. and i have to do that without scout or artisan skills. /wink

i'm completely useless except for killing, and the only nice thing i can do for guildmates is give them nice tips/donate cash from the holo's i've sold from solo'ing the holobase (lmao), or help them kill mobs/stuff they need for XP or resources.

as 'cheap' as it might be, aside from combat, it's extremely limiting.

and high-level mobs are hard enough to kick my ass these days

(this post is meant as an insight into what a 250 skillpoint combat template entails)
