Thread: Question about Rifleman skill tapes/attachments

I'm currently looking for attachments and tapes etc, but before I do some serious buying, I wanted to clarify something :

If I purchase two skill tapes, both +same mod, rifle speed for example - do they stack or does the higher prevail (consequently wasting the lower skill tape) ?

Also, do the tapes work in conjunction with each other? for example, one tape with rifle speed, and another tape with rifle accuracy on the same article of clothing/armour?

I'd appreciate any help/advice you can give me,

Thanks.

First quesion: Only on the same piece of clothing, and its the first one that sticks, any additional ones are lost. You can put +2 on your shirt, +3 on your pants, +1 on your hat, and +1 on your gloves and have it be +7 total tho.

Second question: yes, clothing can accept up to 4 different stat mods.

The same skill dont work on the piece of cloth. I lost a +1 speed tape because i didnt know of that bug. The rest should work as intended.

Be aware, in case you get tapes that are really good, that there's a max cap for any one skill total of +25, so if you get three +10 tapes, and put them in different items of clothing, you'll STILL only get +25 total.

Also, if a tape has more than one stat, it's currently buggy, and gives you only the highest gain skill. If equal, I think it gives you the first one.

And for rifle speed, don't bother trying to get the full +25 bonus. +100 is the max effective speed boost you can get, so at master all you need is +10, tho effectively all you need is +7 unless you have a slow pre-nerf T21, then you want +8.

Skill Tapes are loot drops (not craftable) and the best ones come from high-end NPCs like the Force Sensitive ones. To use one, you have to place it in a socketed piece of clothing (which you have to wear to get the benefit).

They last as long as the clothing you put them in (Forever on Ubese shirts )

Stuff like Nightsisters and Dark Jedi Masters are what you would be looking to kill.

And the tapes are permanent attachments to clothing. I have heard that they will continue to work even when clothing is reduced to 0%. But that is prolly a bug that will get fixed (eventually).

Another thing to note is that there are also Armor Attachments (which look like plates rather than tapes). These can be placed in socketed armor for the same effect.
