I hear that both human and zabrak are great for riflemen... but dont hear anything about wookies in any class anymore lol...

I'd like to go wookie, but worried that it will hinder my goal of being a master rifleman... any thoughts?

not zabrak. I am one and the willpower max is 900 and focus is 500 or 400 I forget. Pick one where you can get a high focus. I think humans or mon cal are your best bet. BTW max all your mind stats.

Human, they have the highest mind stats.

the fun thing about zabrak is they have equilubrium, so if you are out of mind and badly need some, just hit equilubrium and you can squeze off a few more shots

Mon Cals have 650 focus, 150 more than zabrak, but much less willpower

until now humans have the highest mind, focus and willpower, but all over the board they say it will be fixed, so no clue where the stats will end

[ ahem ] Yep, there are no wookiee riflemen, no sir, none to be found...

I migrated my mind stats around so that they're at 1000 for mind, 600 for Willpower, 650 for focus. It's definitely not ideal, but with the proper combo of food/drink and liberal uses of Muon Gold, these things can be overcome.

The only thing that will bite will be the same problem that affects ALL wookiee combat classes - lack of armor versus 90% resist advanced composite wearing enemies; but that's another issue entirely...

I've talked to quite a few rifleman and most seem happy with the three mentioned prior.

Zabrak, Human, Mon Cal.

At lower levels, where a rifleman's speed is low, you want high willpower totals, since there is a long waiting period between shots. As you get higher levels, you'll want higher focus, since you'll be firing 100 HAM cost specials every second or two.

I've seen a few wookie rifleman, but haven't talked to them about their templates, so I am not able to comment on them. However, bothans and trandoshans seem to both be poor choices.

I'm a wookie rifleman and do just fine. Plus, if they ever get around to adding good bowcasters, I'll be ready. For PvP, personal shield generators are your (expensive) friends.

I would bet that at least 95% of the Zabrak Rifleman were made before they changed Humans, or because they didn't know about Humans.

Human is by far the most versatile race of all, and is probably the "best" to take for almost any profession now. It certainly is for Rifleman.

This is all because of the instultingly (to all other races) high caps on secondaries. While a Zabrak is supposed to have the strongest willpower of all, a Human easily beats him. And has more than double the focus (which, IMHO, is much more important than willpower).

Now, there have been rumors these high caps may be changed back to what they should be someday. However, these are just rumors, and I don't believe them.

I would say go Human. If I would keep playing this game, I'd probably re-make my char and start a Human Rifleman.

Mind/Focus/willpower maxes at 1100/500/500

I would say that if you want to be a CH/Rifleman, then Wookie would be a good choice.

I am a Bothan and I have started up the CH and Rifleman trees. I never wear armor due to the encumberance on mind stats. Being a Wookie and not being able to wear armor would have taken that concern off my shoulders. =) That and the bonus' that Wookies get to Taming critters is perfect for CH. And there is a good amount of BE enhanced "Wookie-wear" available now to help offset some of the down sides to the race.

Thanks to everyone who commented. I've started off my rifleman and so far so good I have read over alot of posts on these forums and I think I'll try out the MasterRifleman/Doc template... sit back and snipe and be able to help people at the same time. (something I will enjoy)
