Thread: Question about speed...and slices
I just made Novice Rifleman this morning and bought a T21...well I acually had to buy two but thats a different story. Anyways I had it sliced and the speed is now 5.7. With all the speed bonuses as you move up in rifleman does that mean that your shots are faster? So eventhough the gun is sopossed to be a 5.7 speed it is actually a 4.2 or something due to bonuses?
ANother issue is this. I had bought my first T21 this morning and had someone Slice it and they screwed it up and his slice did not work or something. Does this mnean that I cant slice it again? What am I sopossed to do with this second T-21 that I can slice and is really slow? No one will want to buy it. ANy suggestions.
I know, I sound like a noob...
Oh and my stats on my Second T-21 after slice are 127-344 27% wound dmg. I was not impressed but I just hope these are decent Stats. are they? How the heck do some of you people get such great guns? You must get really lucky with the slices.
ok for the first gun, if it was already sliced you can't slice it again. some dealers will sell them that way, either to make their weapons look better, or because they 'expect' you to know they are already sliced. send an email to the person you bought it from and ask.
yes once you get higher in the solider tree the speed will increase, but the biggest increase comes at master
.
the stats sound a little low for your second gun, but i'd have to see the HAM costs. it almost looks like you bought a t21 made for speed not damage. it also depends on the weaponsmiths skill and his crafting statons, and the materials used.
my sugestion is to use a laser rifle for now, its faster firing and less HAM costs than the t21. the damage range is the downside of the laser though.

If both were from the same vendor then both were probably unsliced and the smuggler was an idiot who doesn't know how to use clamps.
Speed and damage are linked, one cannot be improved at the expense of the other (except for stocks which penalize speed and increase damage, but no one uses them because the HAM costs are horrible). 344 max is normal; many servers haven't had decent resources yet so their T21s may be worse than what's available on other servers.
hehehe... he never said they came from the same vendor. i buy weapons from a few different vendors (stupid shuttle waits). but i did make this mistake once and bought a presliced and didn't know it.
or like smuggler was stupid, but if he went to a master (like he should have) they know how to slice. but i was just givin exaples of my experiances. not knowing his full story.

well the only thing your really lost there was time then. it didn't have a WPU on it did it???? if they don't remove them it'll mess up a slice. other than that i got no clue as to how a slice gets messed up. i'v had over 100 weapons sliced and never had a problem. unless they can get a crit failure on a slice but masters shouldn't. it does sound odd.
