Thread: How do you set up your quickbar?
Having recently made novice rifleman, i realize my quickbar(s) area mess. I have 5 rifles to mess with, along with increasing amounts of abilities as i move up rifleman. If anyone could post their quickbar setups, macros, etc, help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced ![]()

I do it in blocks. The quickbar is setup into three groups of eight buttons (when youexpand it). My first quick bar Ctrl+F1, is all nambypamby BS macros.
/examine self (I'm vain!), /examine, /burstrun, the position /sit/stand/prone/kneel macros, and some general non-combat stuff. I also made a macro to use a stimpack that is on each quickbar. I think it's /healinjury self or something like that. You have to make it though. That way I don't even fiddle with moving stimpacks to my bar... you keep two stimpacks of the same type in your inventory and it uses them. Anyhow, its helpful to have that, just in case you get ambushed while you're talking to someone at a starport or something. That wayI can heal myself, then quickly move to Ctrl+F4, the rifle bar. Ctrl+F2 is a very generic all-purpose template that I can do melee or rifle autofire from. Ctrl+F3 is my melee template. All of which have posture macros and a healing macro for myself. If I'm going to heal others in battle, I click on their name in the group and hit the #7 key.
Anyhow, you're probably most interested in the rifle template, so here goes (I'm a 2343 rifleman by the way...). Upper bar is first, lower bar, ie. the Shift function, is second:
- F1: Mindshot2/Mindshot1 (great for stacking bleeds)
- F2: Headshot3/Headshot2
- F3: Flurryshot2/Flurryshot1 (sometimes AOE isn't your friend and you need to pick out a single)
- F4: Flushingshot2/Flushingshot1
- F5: Concealshot/Stand
- F6: Startleshot2/Kneel
- F7: SuppressionFire/Sit
- F8: WarningShot/Prone
- F9: CurvedSword (so I can switch and autofire in time to switch to Ctrl+F3)/Jawa Ion Rifle
- F10: Speedsliced Laser Rifle (for taking down lairs fast)/Damage Sliced Laser (for non-armored NPCs and most specials)
- F11: Speedsliced T21 (for Autofiring when my mind is low)/Damagesliced T21 (for conceal shot)
- F12: Attack/Healself Macro
I don't pvp much, soI generally know when I'm going to need to use spice or food. In either case, I keep crates in my backpack and pull out about two or three singles regardless, just to open the inventory quickly and use, should I need to. Keep things that exhaust themselves in your tool bar makes you have to replace them, and you don't want to do that in battle.
Hope this helps. Best thing to do is get some ideas, then find out what works best for you.
I try to keep things as consistent as possible. I have multiple weapons types (rifles and 2H Swords), . I also like to have available 6 rifles (T21, Jawa, E11, Laser, SG82, and Spraystick), and three 2HWeapons (2H Curved, 2H Cleaver, and Powerhammer).I have broken those weapons into 3 groups: the three primary rifles (T21, Jawa, and E11), three secondary rifles (Laser, SG82, and Spraystick), and the three melee weapons. The first tool bar (Ctrl-F1) holds the primary rifles, the second (Ctrl-F2) the secondary rifles, and the third (Ctrl-F3) the melee weapons.
Additionally, I use both rows of each toolbar (hover cursor over bottom of the toolbar and drag down for second row if you do not have it). On all the toolbars, I have F1 - F4 the same. They contain /Stand, /Kneel, /Prone, and /BurstRun respectively. This way, no matter what toolbar is up, I can always change posture or get out of the area with the same key press. I do not have /Sit on any of my toolbar keys because I have yet to have to sit down in an emergency. It saves a key just to type the command in or choose it from the radial menu.
From there for these three toolbars, I have the three weapons for that toolbar on Shift-F1 through Shift-F3. E.g., on the first toolbar,Shift F1 = T21, Shift F2 = Jawa, and Shift F3 = E11. On Shift-F4, I have a macro that will change the toolbar to the most used weapon on a different toolbar. So for the first toolbar, I Shift-F4 changes toolbars to the third toolbar and equips the Powerhammer. For toolbars 2 (secondary rifles) and 3 (melee weapons), Shift-F4 changes to the first toolbar and pulls up the T21.
The remaining keys on each toolbars are setup for the most important specials for each weapons-type. Since toolbar 1 and toolbar 2 are both rifles, the remaining keys are identical for both toolbars. Also, since Sword and rifle specials are similar, I have as much consistency between the toolbars as possible. For instance, I have Headshot2 on F9 and Headshot3 on Shift-F9 for the rifle toolbars and Headhit3 and Headhit2, respectively, on the2H swordtoolbar (reversed because I use HS2 more than HS3, but HH3 more for sword). On F10 and Shift-F10, it is Mindshot2 and Mindshot1 respectively, but Mindhit2 and Mindhit1 on 2H sword toolbar. The remaining keys are simlarly setup (Strafeshot2 on the top, Stafeshot1 on the bottom) and similar sword specials (e.g., AreaAttack3 where Strafeshot2 is) on the 2H sword bar when possible.
Other bars have my armor and clothes with macros associated to be able to equip one or the other.
I do not have concealshot on the toolbars, I have it, rather in a macro that stacks 3 of them and that macro is assigned to Ctrl-Alt-S. I have a heal me macro assigned to another key, and heal target on another.
Something you all might want to try is assigning stand/kneel/prone/sit to keys etc I usea SHIFT+(e,d,c,s) combo to change posture rather than take up an extra 4 slot on my toolbar, this may depend on what key layout etc you use but I find it very effective for me esp since none of these are ever spammed generally (well stand is to get up from KD but moving forward has the same effect etc). I am working on a set-up to get my harvesting commands into a assignment to to free up another couple of slots!
my F1 is always auto attack! F11 is peace and F12 is burstrun on all six toolbars
F2 switches between swords and rifles (depends on which is currently up) and F3 is my CH toolbar etc on the first 3 toolbars.
The rest are dmg specials and i try to map the similar ones between sword and rifle (ie bleeds the big master specials etc and the staple head shots/hits)
my weapons occupy the **edit**F+F1- how ever many i need in the order i use them the most!
Off the top of my head my toolbar for rifle is:
f1: stand
f2: prone
f3: cant remember
f4: hs4
f5: busrt run
f6: attack
f7: equip hammer, switch hotbar
f8: my unstocked t21(the switch macro brings me to my stocked one)
f9: mindshot1
f10: mindshot2
f11: peace
f12: warcry2
f13-24 are various foods, other rifles(jawa, laser), and muon. i also keep sniper shot, flurry 1, and startle here
i made a macro to take 1 muon, 1 breath of heaven, and 2 glucose pate, then set an alarm for 9 minutes. (approx +1500 mind, 900 focus, 500 will for a few mins. an s sh1t button)
