Well as far as sniper assassination goes, I was talking fictitiously not realistically, this is a game screw all the realistic references please, but since you went there, by your logic, a person can kill a man then kill a cat, and they should NOT go to jail because although you can murder a man and not a cat your not a murderer? Lee Harvey Oswald was a Hunter, so to you he wasn't an assassin? This is the most asinine logic I've ever heard! The instant you kill 1 person for money or for political gain you're an assassin, it doesn't matter how many animals you kill besides that, thus it fits 100 percent, it's that simple.
You don't want to go down that road. Oswald was known to be a poor shot. Be barely qualified while in the Marines. He held the lowest qualification rank with a rifle. After the assassination the FBI tried to recreate the shooting. Their best sharpshooters were unable to get off the same number of shots in the time frame that Oswald was credited with.
As for the rest of it you are not reading it correctly. You can murder a person. You can not murder a cat. You can even assassinate a person, though not all murders are assassinations. But you can not assassinate an animal.
An assassination isn't just a killing or a murder. It's a specific targeting of a select individual. There are no random assassinations.

I had heard that a random joe bloe guy from a gun club up the road from an investegator (either official or just conspiracy theorist) was able to get the shots off in the same amount of time pretty accurately so that is up in the air and quite frankly pretty off topic.
As for random assassinations...I am given a waypoint to the location of an exact group of people, how is that random. Now if I were to steal someone's mission then yes I'm out joykilling but if I accept a mission, go to a specific location and kill the specific sentient beings how is that not an assassination of said group?

If you are given a location that isn't random. However it is not always an assassination either. Soldiers are given waypoints and told to take out targets at that location on a regular basis. Does that make them assassins?
Oswald could not have fired those shots. There is a whole host of reasons. One is that right after the shooting officers rushed into the building. Oswald was found in a break room a couple floors down from the supposed shooters nest. He was perfectly calm and breathing normaly.
The road that the car turned onto doesn't run parallel to the building. It actually goes off at an angle. So Oswald would have had to get, if I remember correctly, three aimed shots off in five seconds with a target that was moving left to right and moving away at an angle. However prior to turning onto that street the car was moving directly towards him.
The weapon in question was an Italian Carcano carbine. It was a military weapon that was not know for it's accuracy to begin with.
Also another little known fact. The House Select Committee on Assassinations reviewed the Kennedy hit. It determined that there was a second shooter but that shooter missed.
Waste93 wrote:It doesn't fit because though you can assassinate someone, you can't assassinate something. Assassinate only applies to people. Hunters don't assassinate deer during hunting season. Also most assassinations are NOT performed by sniper rifles.

Down what road? Didn't qualify for the marines? what are you talking about... what's that got to do with anything... you're getting off the subject, the question is a simple YES or NO one. Taking the act as fact (whether or not it is actually so) that he did kill a person for political gain, do you believe because he was a hunter AND NOW also a poor shot, he was not an assassin? I don't care if a person was blind, with one arm that and didn't know how to load a rifle or how to spell the word rifle, once they assassinate someone they're an assassin. So it's simple, are you saying Lee Harvey Oswald was not an assassin, because of skill level and hobbies? I don't need any more points because everything else is irrelevant. If your saying he's not well then I know were your head is at and this discussion is futile. However, I think you have the intelligence to understand this point, so I was just wanted a yes he was or a no he wasn't.

It depends, assassins for the most part, try to kill without being noticed, if you come rolling down the street in a roaring tank shooting every thing in sight, you're just trying kill not assassinate. If said soldier is sent to go in and remove 10 different dictators without anyone knowing who did it, those would be assassinations. The concealment tree clearly ordains Riflemen and ONLY Riflemen with the ability to kill without being noticed; NOT Pistoleers, NOT Carbineers, NOT Bounty Hunters. We are those sole profession that can kill silently. On other parts of this board people are arguing up a storm to have that applied to PVP, yet here it's being dismissed.

No. I'm saying Oswald was not an assassin since he didn't shoot Kennedy.

I know you can read since you responded, so you're either ignorant or pretending to be, I cleary wrote Taking the act as fact, it's even in your qoute, but you very well may be not pretending so I'll be more clear. If any fictiotious or real person killed a man secretly for money or politacal would they not be an assassin in your mind because of skill level and hobbies?

Yes I read that. Though I don't see the point of taking a non-fact and making it a fact.
If a person makes a targeted killing for political gain or for money, then they are an assassin. Though not all killings are assassinations. Skill levels and hobbies have nothing to do with it. Many unskilled people have been assassins or attempted assassins.
