Thread: Rifleman Top Five List Please Review 11-12-2003
Well im new to the rifleman proffession made it to novice 2 days back but about the probs i heard ingame and on boards i TOTALLY agree with the 5 points.
But i must say that the resources of the T21 must be changed, since in my galaxy (Ahazi) there are no T21's availeble.
But thats not why im here. Just here to say great job.
Good list, though I'd just like to address the #1 issue.
Warping (as others have said before) is not really a Riflemen problem. It is a problem with the entire game, though we tend to be hit the hardest by it. Instead I'd rather see the nonsensical 2.5x melee damage modifier listed in the top 5 issues. Drop that abomination of an idea. It makes no sense, it's way too disabling, 90%+ of the creatures in PvE are melee, and it's instadeath when combined with the warping.
Any ways, that's just my 1/50 credits. Good list.
Looks very good. But i would like to point out something on spraysticks from #3. Sure, I would like it to be acid, but I would also like themto fix the Chemcial Dispusion Mech. Currently these are stuck at the base (0%) 5/5 to min and max damage.Experimentation is completelyuseless on these.I think the spraystick could be a VERY good weapon, if they fixed these CDM and Adv. CDM. Also, the new feeder mech enhancement loots would also help it even more.

Mmm, no one has yet to address that all our damage types are really really limited...
Because of the e11 rifle nerf we have a total of...
Energy -> DLT20, DLT20a, Tusken, Laser Rifle, Spray Stick, E11 Rifle, T21
Stun -> Jawa Ion Rifle
Cold -> SW82
We lost...
HEAT -> E11 Rifle Nerf
KINETIC -> Tusken Nerf

Anyone else think that's pretty bad since pistols vary from kinetic, to heat, to acid, to energy, and blast... I mean seriously... with only 3 damage types we are really limited in what high end mobs we can fight... while pistoleers, commandos, bh's, and such can take on whatever they want and exploit weaknesses... why can't we? I realize that Brawlers have it worse off than we do on damage types but that's understandable... they hit things... we shoot things... why can't we have a old flint lock tuskens back... because the pistoleers still have flint lock Strikers.... the FWG5 is still heat damage, why can't our E11's revert back to what they used to be...
And why do all our weapons have to have this crappy 200 damage spread, or 300+ in the case of the laser rifle... if we are using such greatly accurate weapons, why is it I roll a 80 damage attack with a laser rifle that can hit for 410 max unsliced?
Gah, all the things you listed are great, but teleporting and stuff is an ingame glitch, what they did here was intentional...
If you don't feel the pain, go to the Nightsister caves and see what you can hurt people with... I watched a pistoleer solo an elder with a striker pistol, all I could do was bleed it and pray it didn't get up...

Still waiting on a response. I've not been informed of the time line for a response but, most of the professions are sending in Top Fives. I have faith in Thunderheart to come through for us ![]()
As far as Warping. I've heard the problem does happen for other professions but, the Rifleman is affected the most be it. More professions addressing the issue is a good thing.

You're going to have to be more specific on these things. The developer will ask you to do so, so I'm asking you to now. Pardon me if you're already done so and I haven't read the 2 pages of replies.
What kind of use would you like to see with Sniper Shot, specifically?
What is specifically wrong with Take Cover and Suprise Shot? I know that both of these work. Maybe you're trying to say that their use is not understood, or that they don't do what you think they're supposed to do.
What is bugged about rifle crawl speed?
What kind of improvements would you like to see on bowcasters?
Somebody else mentioned maybe a bayonet instead.. but I like the idea of smacking something with my rifle butt better.
