Thread: Idea(s) to Balance the proffesion

Yeah every proffesion can spam indefinatly that's a big problem. That's why there where so many pistoleers in the early months. Tat Sunburn was the first readily availble food buff that allowed infinite spaming. Now every class has this ability, it's just on us more because we do tend to do more damage per shot, not nessicarily damage per second or the real dps.


To be honest i hate buffs. Wouldn't break my heart to see them all go. (Except my jedi needs them so so much )

Well without all that Ryshcate maybe my rifleman will lose some weight, man that food has added pounds to him

Ya, I used to be a lean mean fighting machine when I was running around on Dath doing Baz Nitch missions all day. Now I just don't go any where without my speeder, hell even to vote wich is a 100m away from my house I need to jump onmy speedbike.

PVP gods? Hardly i do 170-500 damage using my jawa. I still get eyeshotted for 500 damage at times, not to mention the occasional tkm that does dizzy/kd and 600+ damage scalp slams to me.

Master Rifleman is balanced, TKA needs a new damage type, Fencer is awesome. Together they're super. If I spend 250 skill points on combat alone, I deserve to kick some serious ass. As a BH/smuggler/Pistoleer 2/0/0/0 I could easily mow through folks with that template. With TKA 4/1/3/4 and Master CM it became even easier. Sure, they hit hard, but there are combos that hit harder.


As for dabbling, why do so many people assume this causes problems? Bounty Hunter's know what I'm talking about. All the posts I used to read about Bounty Hunter's wishing their class was totally unique and undabble-able. I'm tired of seeing things chain nerfed.. I believe rifleman is fine as is, and because other classes are being stomped out by them things are getting uneasy. And no, I'm not a rifleman, never was. I'm a TKA / Combat Medic. I love the idea of having to avoid rifleman for what they are, the heavy hitters. Or taking in close combat with a carbineer or pistoleer with lunge and KD's.


And yes, I hail from Starsider where my poison's hit you before I show up on radar sometimes =P. It's good to be a CM on Starsider. Making rifle's cap at 3 seconds would -KILL- rifleman. Literally, it wouldn't even be a challenge with good buffs, food, and power-boosted. They'd be minced. Someone mentioned changes to damage using a Laser rifle as an example. Do you know how random a laser rifle is? I could get Adv. strafe for 100-1000. I guarantee it doesn't hit 1000+ but every once in awhile. I say we start nerfing players, because that seems where most of this stims from.. like the guy intruding on the post becuase the poster "owned him Theed".


Contemplate what this would do to the game as a whole, it'll just add to the list of problems. Things might need tweaked here and there but some of you are talking about revamping the whole profession. 2.5x damage multiplier hurts bad, KD'ed by a TKM they'd take upward 2000 damage if the blow was good. So not sure if I agree with that.. And you have to keep the casual gamer in mind. Ah well, my two-cents.

Armor...use it, who cares that it makes your HAM costs higher, the way you guys get buffed now even a full suit of the heaviest armor around wound dent your low HAM costs. If you simply used kinetic armor that 600+ damage hit (obviously while you're KD, otherwise a 600+ hit isn't going to happen) only becomes what, 150 damage? lol oh ya, against a fully buffed person it would take forever to kill you. And eye shot is so weak, I think with my 60% acid helmet I was hit for 75 damage today a shot...oh man, fear that damage /sarcasm.


And your Jawa can naturally cut right through all armor, so 99% of the time your shots go uneffected by someone wearing even a full suit of armor (no other proffession can do this with such impunity that you guys can, fencers have to be within 15m to even lunge with their stun weapon, and pistoleers get a pathetic stun pistol that is a complete joke damage wise). And lets say someone tripple layers stun, gets something like 40% stun resists, well guess what, your little rifle is AP1, so it still goes through armor fairly easily, meanwhile fencers and pistoleers with tangle pistols sit there and crap their pants because they're screwed with AP0 weapons....


Right now, there is nothing that can stop a riflemen with a good jawa ion rifle, or even a good laser rifle...

Uh I do use armor. 80+ composite. And if i'm not mistaken i'm dizzy/kd while TKM can target any pool they want. So please just leave. Try the fencer forums they get a stun baton, and isn't the tangle pistol stun? Go harass BH, Smuggler, and Pistoleer. Or better yet just leave. .

lol sure they can target any pool thay want, hell, they can stand there beating on you for several minutes if you're buffed, you're not going to be taking hardly any damage at all.


Ya, and both the stun batton and tangle pistol are AP0, meaning you can actually deffence against them if you put stun lairs in your armor...meanwhile the AP1 of the jawa ion rifle makes even bothering with stun resists in armor completely irrelivent and pointless...

Well, it sounds like you should be asking for BUFFS to be nerfed and not us.

Never said anything bad about your ideas...I'll just be glad to see when A'rien gets nerfed so he doesn't walk around like he's the **edit**ing king of **edit** anymore...the guy's got the biggest ego, all because he can dabble and make himself unhittable and because he can shoot adv strafe and nearly insta gib people.


But I don't see why you care what I'm saying anyways, I'm the one still paying to play this game, you quit. So I'm the one who's going to have to live with any of these changes, not you, so I **edit** well want them to be effective changes.
