Can you please answer my questions about this, even though everything may be pointless with the new system?

Where did we get a damage increase?

What does HAM cost have to do with useless specials?

Where are the parts of the original top-5 issues that are not included here (like damage types)?

i don't think you are going to get much of a response.

i think it may be more benefitial for all of us if from now on, instead of takeing a "top 5 issues" list, we instead list 5 very specific defects. It's obvious they don't really listen to our issues lists, or if they do it's really in passing. they have an idea of where this game is going to go and it's quite clear that we don't really play a part in that design, or at least this little communication experiment doesn't.

but if we come at them with 5 clearly definedbugs, maybe we can at least have those fixed. I mean specific too.

"tusken is kenetic damage, not energy"

"surprise shot is broken"

"cover's numbers are flawed"

So basically you can sum it up into one answer:

No, or it's already being fixed.

/sigh

How about making Take Cover take us off radar?!?!? For the love of Pete, that's all I really want!!!!

Oh, and what's up with this:

Devs have stated that the Combat Medics throwing further than Rifleman can shoot is a bug. However the request for longer range than 64 meters was stated the platform is not set up beyond 64 meters.

What about Turrets? What about the fact that you currently CAN shoot turrets from beyond 70m? And yes, the CM thing was a bug, but it was still possible meaning the platform IS THERE.

Honestly, we should at least get one shot that shoots above 80m or something.

This is just my personal opinion but I don't think TH means to say it isn't POSSIBLE to hit something from longer than 64. I think the implication is that beyond 64m causes platform issues that they can't resolve. (what does that mean? Probably issues with the AI and other things that would be exploitable or otherwise be difficult to fix). Therefore the practical limitations are 64. Now.. it is well known that there is a margin of error on distances in the game. 64 on my screen is sometimes less or more than it is on yours. This probably accounts for some of the long range stuff that you see. Some of it is probably bugs like the Combat Medic thing. Those should be fixed if the intent is to enforce a 64m limit then lets get to it.

I think there should and will be a balance on distances between pistols, carbines, and rifles during the upcoming weapons balance. There has to be to balance them. Currently pistols are way to accurate at long ranges. To date the fix is to make rifles inceasingly accurate at short ranges which isn't right.

The answer to the rifleman top 5 were about the same as any other combat profession. There are massive changes coming to the combat code in the game and anything changed now would be outdated in 2 months anyway.

I'm pretty dissapointed. Even though we finally got answers, seeing the clarity and content of these answers I would not have minded waiting a bit longer. I did expect a general direction of "wait for the updates in the next month", but I had at elast expected this as a clear and understandable answer.

My apologies if this is all clear and logical to native speakers. But my limited english tells me this is pretty weak for an "official statement".

QFE - this dev team specializes in giving vague generalities as answers.

It's like they realized that they had to give us the answers they promised, but hadn't done squat to come up with any, so they answers they give to ALL professions will be:

"we are devs, we program code. There are updates coming at some point in the future, which will update things, and then things will be updated...thank you for realizing how awesome we are and how little we the great devs need to talk to you little players."

It just takes time to work out this many issues.

I know a bunch of this is in development, but it really is . The combat system is being rebalanced and going forward, its important to get your critical issues to klawlegna so we can act on it. The big bottleneck is communication and after the holidays, a lot of this will be ironed out and smoother.

Instead of "fixing this" and "tweaking" that and ending up with a wobbly 4 legged table because so many number are over-tweaked, we are just revamping the system, but that takes longer.

So yes, it was in the original top 5 issues. It just either was taken out, or ignored.

Not ignored - - just lost in the noise.

Effective communication isthe key issue here and one in which them devs and I have put together a plan to change things around in January to help channel information.

The short answer is that these items will be taken care of in the weapons balance. Specials, weapon stratification and the like will all be accounted for. This will make more weapons of all types available to people. We are also addressing the crafting of items with limited resources, but I wont have any details about that until after the new year.

If you guys have any specific points, the important thing is get klawlegna the details so when he reports to me, I can get that information to the devs.

TH, Klaw,

You guys rock... don't listen to all the crybabies that have no idea how to make a constructive suggestion and have no idea how difficult something like this is to code. Oh, and I did I mention they don't understand "balance"?

Keep up the good work, fight the fight and have a happy holiday!

WAKE UP DEVS

THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE!!!

how did this game even pass beta when a pistoleer shoots faster than a carbine and is more accurate then both rifles and carbines!!!!????

I understand the 64m design problem the DEVs have. I think that means they need to lower pistol/carbine max ranges.

Anyways.... If what the DEVs say will actually happen, then it sounds good.

Thanks, klaw. I know ur doin ur best

and there was much rejoicing...

Stop making the same lame ass excuse. How many times do you think we need to hear that? You are actually saying "we cant do it, we never could and we are just stringing you all along until the money runs out".

Not my money tho =)
