Anyone a Master Rifleman/Master 2h Swordsman? With the upcoming defenses stacking nerf I was thinking about master 2h to compliment my rifle skills.

Richterscale,

Correct me if I'm wrong but the reason to go 2H now would be to get the mind bleeds to stack with the rifle mind bleeds. With the new combat system, only one type of bleed is possible, so either you will get the rifleman mindbleed or the 2H mindbleed. Kinda takes away the lure of a M2H/MRifleman. At least thats how I think its supposed to work.

I think if you're trying to make the BEST combat rifleman then mRm + doc is going to be the way to go after the defences are nerfed. However mRm + fencer is more fun for me.

It's a shame SOE don't have a clue and are just going to turn most of the defensive stacking people into elite + doc, or they might just stack offence and go carbine + bh carbine.

I really do wonder if they even think any of these changes through at all. (Crackdown...)

I was joking about image designer.

Master marksman for the added speed bonus, or get a +5 rifle speed tape.

I am taking up fencer to go with rifleman just cuz I like the idea of whipping out my sword when a brawler gets into my face. The def mods for fencer rock and you get the melee mitigation.

The main benifit to matching fencer w / rifleman is the state defensive mods for pvp. In pvp the biggest problem I have is with states like kd and dizzy. Also, in pvp you can whip out your stun baton and continue to dish out damage that goes right through most armors.

I used to have some swordsman before I mastered rifleman (not master swordsman either) and the stacking bleads and ability to attack the same pool (mind) are very useful at the lower levels, but not as much as a master. The fight is usually over too fast for the bleeds to have much of an effect.

If you pve mostly, i would take ranger 0,0,4,0 (the hunting / tracking line). I did that for a while and was able to hunt almost any creature in the game with maskscent and conceal shot. This is also a good way to make credits harvesting and selling resources.

For pvp, combat medic, or doc, with rifleman is pretty good also. Also, these professions use the mind which you will have buffed for rifle already.

Besides the common CH, TK, and Doctor combos (all of which I have used), the other melees work well with Rifleman (Heavy Swordsman is very nice). Another good second profession is Master Musician (or at least 4 0 0 0 Musician) for the secondary mind stat buffs.

Master Marksman is nice, but you may get more from other classes by dropping to just 4 0 0 0 or 4 0 0 4 if you prefer to keep the RS line.

So, why did we become the flavor of the month? I mastered rifleman way before TK, but the TK damage blows away my rifle damage (spamming 1200 damage every second bare handed at 10 mind cost per swing is far more consistant than the output from my 680ish damage laser rifle)

Hehe not mastered fencer yet, got novice but then started grinding for holos like a fool. Doing TKA at the moment, figure I'll master TKA then fencer and do the stacking thing for a month.

Might end up 4000 TKA, mRm and mFencer, fencer was just a lot of fun.

holowhoring, seflyn!? i didn't think you would stoop... haha

fencing rocks. tkm is fun too, but i like beating people with my shower faucet and bobby stick, haha.

i went mRifle, mFencer, 0304 tka, 2000 medic - the skillpoints worked out perfectly and i got the extra kick to state defenses (instead of meditation). i'm always back and forth on which would be better, meditation or less defense/medic - right now i'm happy with where i'm at. (healing bleeds on the fly, but no powerboost/poison healing/wound healing).

anyways - g'luck

Hey Sef, just my observations, but Ki'yala on Tarq was TKM and I was MR, and she almost never outdamaged me on targets. Whats the stats on your rifle?

Before the stack nerf was announced, I had a template with MR, TKM, some Swords and Fencer worked up. If mitigations do indeed transfer after the stack nerf regardless of the weapon equiped, TKA might be the choice. Otherwise I'll stick with Doc and the stat migrations.

Well I'm soloing the large rebel base missions for FP / cash. (I mistakenly thought the Devs would let high ranking Imps ignore scans.)

Thinking about it I probably kill them faster using my rifle, if taking into account I drop 2-5 at the same time using strafe.

I've just been very impressed with TKA damage, it also seems a lot easier on the old mind if I happen to be full and only on 1100 focus. Another thing is some of the bases shaped like a + are hard to get LOS with a rifle, much easier to charge in and kill them, same thing in the big NPC faction base on naboo.

But then I did some group (about 20v20) pvp tonight, and the one time I pulled out my VKs I was left on fire, dizzy, KDed, poisoned, diseased and after all that running away.

Rifle got me over 1000FP and only one death which was due to SWG locking up.

hokey080589,

I am Master Rifleman/Master Swordsman/Master Brawler. Iadded Swordsman for the added melee defense plus the ability to attack mind either at range or toe-to-toe. In PvE it is awesome. In PvP, it is not as strong a defensive build as some others, but it is probably the strongest offensive build with ranged and melee combined. Both specialize in mind, and the Powerhammer and many other 2H weapons are medium armor piercing. Much of the advise you get on the Swordsman boards works for Rifleman and vice-versa. I added Master Brawler to the mix for the 20 second area effect delay from Warcry2, the improved Intimidate2, and especially for the KnockDown that comes with Lunge2.

I can dizzy with Flurryshot2, Hit3, or AreaAttack3 then Lunge2 to knock them down for a Dizzy/KD combo.

Or, I can attack mind with my rifle until they get close, then pull out the powerhammer or other 2H sword and continue to pound away on the same targeted pool.

If the battle starts close, I can start attacking mind with the PH and switch to rifle when they run. For random pool attacks and multiple targets, it is Strafeshot2 at range and Areaattack3 for melee.

oh how i miss my powerhammer... **edit** skill point cap.

My current Combo is Master Doc, Rifleman (4/3/3/4) and novice scout.

Works well for me, buff myself, the team and even pets. Deal out massive damage with rifleif my tanks.. i mean friends keep my target at 50-60m. Scout to get all that hard to get meats for doc.

i've always had MasterDoctor so my stats are migrated to suit (400/400/400 400/400/400 800/1100/1100) Meaning with my buffs i'm a toughy to bring down hehe. Which is perfect for rifle, with all that mind migrated.

I can see as others have said for Doctor + ? might be a more common combo once the stack nerf comes into play
