They do, but's that's the incentive of making master rifleman, it's nice to have a payoff in the end. Come'on man, Pistols are insanely fast and have the same max range? Hrm
I do believe rifles have a higher rate of fire than pistols but that's besides the point. The guy you were fighting was probably one of those template of the month guys if you weren't able to hit him. Also he was probably buffed and your group was not, like someone else already stated. Check the proffesion out before you start crying nerf.

The person that did this was using a looted bad ass rifle and is one of the template users. That is why you could not hit them. Come now Charb we have fought side by side many times and you have seen me lying there looking at the perty clounds many times

i have mastered every combat class in the game, including combat medic (which shouldn't be a combat class). After playing them all, the dmg dealers in this game are riflemen, commandos, pikemen (yeah, they suck untill master) heavy swordsmenand sometimes tka. Who deals the most damage? Riflemen.. Who can steal the kills in krayt graveyard? Riflemen Who can solo krayts?..... I know someone will say the game shouldn't be balance around krayts, but i'm sure the dev meant for no one, not even jedi masters to be able to take down a juvi/canyon duo alone (conceal shot or ch/rifleman or both).. What should really speak volumes about rifleman is all the 1337 dud3z are riflemen (they didn't pick it cuz it suck)..
Anyway, I remastered (2 days and 30 minutes) rifleman to enjoy it while it last. I see a huge nerf to riflemen coming as it should. As it is now, i can solo fort tusken elite spawn with nothing but my bio-e suit (melee+stun), my t21 (573 max dmg without powerup), and some breath of heaven. I take down the toughest of tuskens in seconds(2 or 3). Something is really wrong guys. If you don't think so, go play pistoleer (or any other elite combat class) for a week.
Problem with rifleman in my mind is conceal shot, melee defence (should be 0 melee defence), and the speed. I'm sorry, there is just something wrong with firing a 7.1 speed weapon once/second. Maybe there will be another T21 nerf, un-nerf and a final nerf again. Maybe a decent t21 should be 9 speed so lasers and down can keep some speed; something has to give though.
