Thread: Not Overpowered
1ST-Just get a 40% stun resistant composite helmet and quit your itching.
"Man mind determines what happens in PVP, sniff sniff....... Whaa I don't wana use delays and KD's to take out a rifleman"
2ND-Their going to make mind healable, first their gonna do this combat revamp BS where we shrinkour HAM bars instead of draining the pools and then they'll realize "Hey, the doctor loop no longer exists.......I guess we can make mind healable."
-to that Stacking BS your about to bring up-Any Master Carbineer/0-4-0-0BH can take out any rifle defense stacker, especially if their smart enough to get a scoped weapon.

So what you are saying is that you with your weapon and me with mine, neither of us wearing armor, or nostrike that both of us wearing the exact same armor made by the exact same smith, standing at any distanceapart, beyond 30 meters, I should be able to win...because I can eat food? Thank you for proving our point.
The only way that we can actually use our specials is by getting buffed. I don't care how easy or readily available or cheap they can be you are explicitly stating that our class is completely and entirely dependent upon Chefs and Smugglers filling our bellies and entertainers writhing in front of us for a few minutes. What other professions are completely reliant on others outside of crafters?
I just went to Lok for a few missions since I hadn't been there for awhile. I grabbed an NPC mission to recuperate my travel costs and just to make some money(it was a nym base) and figured what the hell it's just 2 guys and a droid I don't need any food or spice at all...3 shots later my mind bar is gone and 1 of them is nearly dead while the other is at full health since my strafeshot missing him, or he wasn't within range of the effect. Longstory short, I killed the nearly deadguy with a normal attack shot then(thanks to all their attacks hitting my health bar) I had to pop a muon to stay alive and just barely beat the droideka thanks to crappy AI and a conveniently placed wall allowing me to rest for a bit and regenerate my mind. Thats right, an easily soloable mission (for any elite combatantand not even a master)nearly killed me because I decided to use a special twice without taking any form of buff. Sounds perfectly fair to me.
Why not just ask the devs to nerf buffs so HAM costs mean a **edit** thing once more so people can't spam shots until kingdom come thanks to having 15 skill points invested in medic and large pursestrings.

So right man. Master rifleman may be gods of PvE (especially buffed) but we are NOT pvp gods. We have advantages and disadvantages like most other classes.
Trust me guys, if rifleman were overpowered, you would know.

Dont get me wrong. Rifles are suposed to be powerfull, and it is the hardest ranged class to level, unless you through BH in there.
Another thing people look at is your damage types, and AP level. As far as i know, you have the only Heavy AP weapon in the game, other than heavies. You get the strongest Stun damage weapon in the game. You will soon have an AP2 Acid rifle as well. (I really hope they fix the heavy acid rifle before they release this, or we will loose many Commandos im sure...)
There are also some bugs now, which allow double and triple mastery stacking. Some people mistake the use of a rifle by these folk as the reason they cant be hit at all. This coupled with the fact that if your oponent missies 95% of the time, most of them use a T21 to top off ther PVP template.
You SHOULD be powerfull. As far as "Powerfull" and its meaning goes, I look at it this way. If i wanted to use these guns, Id become a rifleman, If im not a rifleman, I dont get a vote on weather they are "too powerfull" or not.
Oncethe devs finaly realize, that fixing other broken professions, the "Your class is overpowered" crap will slow down to a crawl.

- every class cant have every defense mod.
- every class has bugs making them broken. rifleman have "broken" melee defense, take a look at every other profession in the game.
- every class has high HAM costs
- everyone needs to be buffed out the ass in order to spam specials
- rifleman fire as fast or faster than pistoleers andmore accurately -----> overpowered and needs a nerf
Now on to what we have....

We have a player thats TKA/ Pikeman/ MasterRifleman and she runs into every Imperial city overt with no buffs and no armor and copmpletly dominates. Hmmm if i couldnt get hit i would too.
Whoever said we are good because we have to be hit the nail on the head. Although, this isn't true anymore.
I leveled with 2.5x melee, MOB warping, and the WORST combat profession accuracy. You think that improved my skills at all??? Hell yeah, anyone else remember this macro:

But that fight you detailed is basically saying power versus power. You are trying to outdamage us when we are admittedly the high damage elite profession. You need to try a few other things, for instance I was just involved in a player event on Bloodfin (mayor-slayer, a duel between all the politicians that could show up, 4 vs 4 ffa for the preliminaries) and while it is somewhat unrealistic having the duel take place on a theatre stage the tactic used against me actually caused some damage. And this is versus a group of 2 or 3 more or less non-combatants.
I was nocked down while dizzy and could not stand back up for quite some time, during it I was shot (it was a pistol but I don't think any specials or at least nothing high) a good number of times and if it was versus anyone of actual skill I would have been dead 4 times over before my char could finally stand back up again. We all have a weakness you just need to exploit it during a fight.
Defense stacking and other such methods are being removed and surely our defensive bug will be fixed so thatany riflewielder willbe easily targetable once again. Whether or not we are useless by that point thanks to yet another gun being stripped, a speed cap preventing us from participating in a fight, and/or the crackdown removing our treasued muon is up to debate.
P.S. Oh I won the event by the way, deadliest mayor this side of the core.
I want to make it clear that I do not blame rifleman for using their most powerful attack, it is what any fighter would do. I blame the devs for their lack of vision and for not seeing what they had made rifleman, which in most cases is an unstoppable killing force. I also don't blame the rifleman for having such high defense, or for the melee defense bug that obviously exists. I don't hate rifleman (the people) I hate the rifleman profession as the developers have designed it. I don't blame you guys for playing the most powerful class in the game, the blame is solely on the developers for making one class so much more powerful than another. I'm an advocate for game balance, not game domination by adopting a certain template, whether that be rifleman, combat medic, or even pikeman
