Thread: Bring back 2.5 multiplyer
Even more embarrassing was that I was a 4/2/2/3 Rifleman, and I was TERRIFIED by Kreetles.
If a group of Kreetles spawned on you, you were screwed. 4 of them hitting you with 2.5x more damage wiped me out in SECONDS.
KREETLES PEOPLE, KREETLES!!!!

/agree its why I left rifleman originally, and why I came back when they got rid of it.

until your rate of fire or your incredible accuracy is adjusted to where it is supposed to be. (i.e. rate of fire slower than a pistoler which it is NOT currently) then you will be overpwoered.
Face it you need a speed nerf and be forced to play the game like the rest of us, instead of just using your headshot macro
Now this is kinda funny...well, not really. Master Riflemen being annoied that there's so many people starting to choose this profession, wanting to make it harder to reach Master Rifleman, harder than anyother elite profession xp wise, wanting to add things like 2.5 multiplyer again. Now, they all always assume that since they already are Master Riflemen they won't be effected much by slower advancement in the tree and so on, virtually hoping to be the only über PvP's out there, being special...just as someone pointed out earlier in this thread. Now, wouldn't it be kinda funny if the devs did this change and all master riflemen ended up on 2/2/2/2 because of it....I'm a master rifleman and I would still laugh my ass off due to all the flame posts that would end up here.
Will we be nerfed? Most definately, regardless if they add the 2.5 or not...and personally, I rather be nerfed without that 2.5 than with. Because in all honestly, a TKM spamming spitting rawl á 1k-2.5k per second does enough dmg as it is and I can't see why holding a rifle would make a punch to the face lethal.
I decided to reach Master Rifleman back in August and I plan to stick with it, but with a 2.5 multiplyer to melee dmg, please...we won't be able to do the simplest of missions without having some ritual including vehicles and stimpacks. I am sure there can be a better solution to it...like, reduce melee defense, atleast then we would have a chance of survive a PvE melee and still be owned by TKM's the moment they reach us.

Have to disagree..........we should NOT ask for the damage multiplyer back. At least not the full 2.5x. Devs made other changes to compensate or removing our damage multiplyer..........not to us directly, but to other professions and npc's. The latest one being the bleed nerf so we can't stack them any longer. I'm just saying if we go back to the multiplyer, then they would need to reverse other changes they've made since then too. They should look into some other form of handicap to add, but not the 2.5x damage multiplyer for melee...........I never liked getting killed by 1 punch even though I can't kill in 1 shot with a freaking gun.
oh, and 1 more thing..............the dabblers are here ONLY because of the bonus stacking mods. Once those go away, so will a lot of riflemen dabblers.

I agree, my vote is NO !
The bit I highlighted is the largest part of theproblem.. the changes that were madeseem bugged. The changes were supposed to make us a lot easier to hit holding a rifle ( not a damage multiplier ) but instead it's made us like 4x harder to hit, so as it stands it makes our +40 melee defense atMasterinto something more like +160. If they can fix that ( which I think they are soon ) we probably won't need the multiplier put back in. If the changes the Dev's made are working as they were intended to then we definitely need something to weaken us against melee attacks. Every Profession needs a weakness, for us it should be IMHO against Melee attacks. Maybe everyone else has other ideas ![]()
So it's not just the Stacking Mods, its the fact that the Stacking mods geta huge boostwhen you hold a Rifle.. Sucks really.. hehe!
And before someone flames me for being a stacker hehe! I've been working towards this template since I first signed up
bugs or no bugs. I can't prove it so you'll just have to take my word for it..
Peace Y'all.

man... i remember when i was scared to death by giant gubber... it only took one, by the way... he closes the gap, im sitting there, waiting for a new shot... AND i cant hit him... man... those were the days...
could hit point blank about every 5 shots
could barely fire 5 shots every minute
could barely survive 4 hits from a GUBBER

To be honest, I never understood the logic behind the 2.5 multiplyer anyway.
If any, Rifle should give a bonus (will never happen andshould never happen for balance reasons), because you still could use a rifle as kinda cane or club.
Let's assume there is someone with an empty pistol and someone with an empty rifle. I would have more respect for the one with the rifle, simply because the rifle used as a club has a longer range and would most probably hit harder.
Just a thought..
