Thread: Wow, everyone and their mom is going rifle now

That is pure BS. my alt is an armorsmith. there is no 70% stun composite. If there is stun resistance (even a little) on it, all the other experimentation that are needed goes to the toilet. so you get a stun armor with crappy everything else including encumbrance durability and all other resistance.

Personally I'd like to see the 2.5x melee penalty come back. Higher HAM costs too. The main reason we sucked so bad for so long is buffs were broke forever, and chefs seemed to take forever to make it to master. Now that buffs stack properly, I can eat, drink, and spice away the HAM costs of my stocked rifle (105 mind cost). Throw some rifle speed tapes on and I can sit and spam HS3 at a 350k HAM canyon krayt and drain its mind pool before the other 7 people in my party can get health and action to 80%, and never use a bit of HAM for specials (this is while wearing full composite, including helmet). Also make our guns a LOT slower, but increase damage some, like 2x speed 1.5x damage. As it is right now a master rifleman/master marksman can shoot strafe 2 at the 1 sec cap on a 5.7speed gun. Any rifleman that gets a few points in rifle speed from tapes is going to be way over powered tho unless they raise the hard cap, as 100 rifle speed lets you shoot any gun regardless fo how slow it is at the 1sec cap. Also lower our defenses some, they do seem to be a smidge high


Summary: bring back 2.5x melee penalty, raise HAM costs,increase gun speeds 2x, increase gun damage1.5x, lower defenses


That should bring us back into a bit more balance.

Ask Serenius about his Jawa-be-gone helm. 75+ stun resists I thinks. But other than that, no resource shift will allow a 70/70/80 resist composite to be made without the suit being 900/900/1000 encumbrance or so. Composite does NOT really depend on resources for damage types, not like PSGs and Tantel (?).

70% stun is impossible. the highest a vulnerable damage type can be layered to is 45% and that is using 1000 whatever quality stuff. so if anyone has 70% helm it's duped.

No, it's not the rifle class that's overpowered. You're are just seeing a lot of dabblers and rifle/tka/fencer. I'm master rifle with no 2ndary combat skills. I got owned by a Commando/Sniper pretty hard the other day. Wierd template.

I will leave and never come back if that 250% thing is ever put back in. I was rifleman a long time but never tryed to "grind" it... mainly due to this. There are cases where you do everything right and still die because of this. My fragile ego cannot accept this . I might give you defense tweeking. I might even give you HAM cost. Maybe even the speed thing.I wil NEVER go back to dieing in one or 2 hits by a Crazed Durni... never, ever again.
