Thread: Sorry guys, Rifleman needs a nerf.
Dude... you said nothing about being buffed.. and if you have 4.5k ham there is no way you would not be able to cover the 64m gap before dying, especially if you burstrun ( that is if the guy you're fighting doesnt move ). Heck if you are TKM you can hit from like 20-30m out can't ya? I haven't played a TKA as yet so correct me if I'm wrong.
The most damage I have been able to do with Advanced strafe in PVP with my non UBER T21 has been in the vicinity of like 700 random pool damage. So taking into account that I freakishly hit only one of your ham bars all the time it would take 6-7 hits at max 700 damage over say 10 seconds and by that time you'd be on me like Ferret in a rabbit hole.. ![]()
But don't get me wrong.. I aint standing still to let you catch me. ![]()
If we need a nerf then it is a very small nerf. Just make it so that we aren't so accurate running and at very close range. I still get killed by Smugglersall of the time. Not much you can do once you are knocked down and last ditch spammed. Hell, from max range even. We use the mind pool for specials so I don't think our offensive capability is overpowered at all. I think we just need our accuracy adjusted. I was also in favor of our melee penalty as long as we could be justified as the king of ranged combat. And the Jawa does not need a nerf...
First off it could be that the rifleman in question is using the weapon shown in this post:

If so or the rifleman has a weapon like it then it's notsurprising he's killing people so fast, it's likecrying about a TKA in 100% resist to all armour being unkillable, it's hardly a fair representation of the profession.
Give a pistoleer a gun with stats like that and you'll soon be crying about how they killed 1000s of people all at once with fanshot.
The gun was damage sliced to 687 - 2292.

Range is 10m...20m is master brawler lunge (which is useless since the guy doesn't go down very often, I've tried)...And ya, I've covered the 64m without dying, that was fine, but I hit dizzy/kd and the guy just stands up (with dizzy on) and he still has 2500 HAM left, I'm only doing 350 damage to a random pool while he's doing 700-1100 damage to a random pool (all this at point blank, the guy wasn't even trying to run at this point) And I obviously died...that's just stupid, they should reinstate the 2.5x melee mod or something because right now there's no incentive to even try to fight anyone anymore as a TKM (or meleer in general)
Unfortunately Xytroncore I think we are all going to have to wait and see what happens with the combat overhaul.. I think a large part of the problem is they are releasing it in chunks and we are what? 1/4 the way through it at the moment?

Here's the moral of today's story: Don't bring a knife to a gun fight. A Master Unarmed going against a Master Ranged. This is so ridiculous that it's ricockulous. You're upset because you think you should be the supercharacter and someone showed you that you're not. I hear Everquest calling your name.

Glad you chose this post...so you don't agree that I should be able to kill a master riflemen at POINT BLANK range? My kd/dizzy has failed and am sol for 30 seconds taking massive damage while this guy never misses me...You don't think that's unfair to meleers? I mean I had the skill to get to point blank range only to lose to a guy holding a rifle (that by the way was sticking 2 feet through my head)...okay, you guys keep on being meglomaniacs, I don't care anymore.

Whine in the Teras Kasi forum about not being powerful enough. Nerfs are destructive, not constructive.
