Here is a way to get around the searchs apparently. Get a droid with a storage compartment. You can load the spice into the droid then store your pet. Of course you'll have to pull out the droid and get your spice before you need it. But it should stop it from being confinscated.

Eeheh I must admit that the news about punishment for Imps caught with contraband made me laugh, but the posts of Imperials complaining about it are even more enterntaining . Umm in case you missed it, you joined the Empire to uphold the Imperial law.... and now you are complaining about it?

Anyways no reason to panic there is a workaround .. use master chief food, you still do fine. The buff is almost as good as the moun gold, if you use the right food/drink combo.

BTW, I've been reading alot about the Chef Revamp (A.K.A. NERF!) and Fishak and Glucose don't even exist on TC. And prepatch food on TC is bugged. So in conclusion, we're **edit**ed.

Points up to espo99 post and askes "did ya read that?"

Like the Imperials needed LESS new recruits nowdays. We now are almost outnumber 7-3.

Well for a interesting standpoint I guess I'll be buying my first droid soon.

Hopefully when the perks get fixed they will be enticing enough to counteract this setback.

Though I like the contraban idea imperials are corrupt and clout goes a long way. You should not be subject to searches if

A) you completed the Imp theme park on naboo(I mean come on you worked for the emporer)

B) you are an officer(Your an officer not some grunt, you can get away with more through your power)

If you don't meet A or B be should get some sort of fine though. Maybe not as harsh as the one they got now but some fine.

I might go along on one condition. IF the Imp is overt and in uniform. Even then, though not possible in the game, a rebel could just wear a uniform and bluff their way past a search.

A : Same type of thing for your idea about the Imp themepark. Just because they completed it doesn't mean they are still a member. You could have gotten the badge then resigned.

B : An officer is also held to a higher standard than a grunt. The grunts are just MPs. They have a direct order from the Emperor or Vader telling them to conduct searchs and confiscate certain items. Now they could disobey their orders and run the risk of getting caught for doing so and suffering the consequences, which are usually fatal, or follow their orders and maybe tick off a low level officer. Ticking off officers is something that grunts usually enjoy doing by the way.

Pysco,

Oh no. We actually almost agree on something?

I like the overt idea too. But I'd give it two things. It reduces the chance of getting caught with contraband. Basicaly they don't search you nearly as well. If you do get caught then you are punished but not nearly as severely as being covert and getting caught.

I like the idea more of the penalty being a percentage of max FP for the rank. So if it's 10% and the max FP for a rank is 4k then you would loose 400FP. Being overt would reduce this. Make it less than half. A way to think of this is like insurance. If you die you still decay, but it's 1% instead of 5%. Same thing this way. Being overt and in uniform would be your insurance.

Yes this isn't the US military. But all militaries are based on discipline. Which means following your superiors orders. So if the Commander in Chief issues an order the lower ranks have to follow it. Failure to follow a lawful order is easily punishable and for the Empire the punishment would probably be of the terminal variety.

I have no problem with cutting them some slack. See the example above. Or if even they just confiscated the contraband and gave a small FP loss. Maybe have some kind of counter that would indicate how many times they've been caught. First time they get a warning. Second time seizure. Third plus times its seizure plus FP loss. A better system would be a progressive loss of FP. More times you get caught the more FP you loose. Though this would probably be difficult to implement and there would have to be some kind of reset so it didn't get to out of hand.

I can agree/comprimise with alot of your ideas, atleast we both agree the system should be more dynamic. I really don't use much spice anymore to tell ya the truth but I still want to see more of a dynamic system.

Maybe a chance to bribe the officer too, if you fail they take the money and doc ya twice the faction and rank-Something cool ya know?(Maybe neutral and rebs could try this too but with a lower rate of success)

And I guess even in the empire officers need to look good for the sake of the state propaganda apparatus.

-This is one good step to make this more Star Warsy though, I like the contraban idea.

They've changed the way food works. You probably aren't going to like it much. In the new system the length of the buff has increased. So you can get ones that last 20 minutes or more. However the amount of the increase has been cut. So instead of say +500 you get +40.

You now have 100 "points" to your stomach. Each food/drink has a filling rating. So if something is 11 filling you can take 9.

But here is the kicker. It will now take one hour for the filling to run out. So if you take something with a twenty minute buff. It will take another forty minutes for it to clear out of your system. So downtime has been dramaticly increased.

The resource requirement also appear to have been increased. Mostly thru the use of containers. For example a small container uses ten gems. While a large requires one hundred. Yet the large only hold two more than the small.

If you are familar with crafting you will also notice that adding all these subcomponents will not only increase costs and resources, but time. To make a factory run of item A. You will have to make a factory run of containers first. Then put those into the food factory to make the run of food. The BE additives will be the same way. To use them they will have to get the BE to make a factory run, then include them in the schematic for the food factory run.

So expect an increase in food prices. They will require more time and resources yet appear to be less effective.
