Thread: I my first PvP experiences and why Rifleman is not overpowered
If you got the 1st shot on the CM in question he would go down, before he could even react. CMs usually dont wear any armor .. you know
Wookiee Master Rifleman/Master Combat Medic
As a Master Doctor I doubt 5 CM's could take me down with poison and disease. Why? Cause I can insta heal every one of their poisons every 2 seconds for 0 mind cost while on food.
In small PvP battles I've had CM's waste almost entire packs poisoning me over and over again while I healed, didn't take a single tick, and ripped them apart from range. The problem is, you need exponentially more Doctors than the enemy needs CMs. How many people could a Doctor theoretically heal of poison efficiently? 3, maybe. Even then they'd have to be standing still right next to the doc and 1 would always be taking damage. Considering that asingle CM can AE poison entire groups of 20 a single doc wont cut it in that situation. That's the real problem, people bring a single doc and a group of 20 and half of them get wasted by a single AE, it's IMPOSSIBLE to heal that many people.
The best bet against a CM is to KD/Dizzy their butt and zerg them to incap as fast as humanly possible. Also, blind and stun is VERY useful....
Also, people often say that it takes alot of resources to make poison packs. It really doesn't, once a CM gets a decent stock of advanced resources with which to make their packs they can make thousands of them. Heck, 10k of each resource would probably be enough for HEAVY PvPing for 6 months or more. Think of it like a weaponsmith, they spend time getting a good supply of good resources (like every crafter in the game) but then how much does it take to make a single gun once they have all the resources they need in mupltiple 100k stacks (a 100th of their supply? a 1000th?)? With a million credits and a week's time it's possibleto go from Novice Medic to Master CM, buy 10k stacks of every resource you need, and make a supply of poison that will last you months (probably wont be the best ever but it will definately be deadly). You'd probably have enough left over for some nice composite....
The CM's are not overpowered, they are annoying. I got hit with a -217 DISEASE on my mind. I still killed him and I was trying to shuttle back and he attacks again and I kill him again. I don't think they can throw while kneeling. I popped a muon just incase and headed to the cantina. I wait. And wait. And wait. The muon goes to downer and even that wears off while I'm waiting. That one disease did thousands of points of damage over a 13 to 15 minute time period and then I had to wait to get my mind healed after it wore off. Bleh. It sucked
FecoFeaFip, another reason I am going Master Doctor/Rifleman after my holo whoring.
CM's are really good for Group PVP battles, but a Doc/Rifleman kicks ass anywhere![]()
then she killed my mount for no reason (its a **edit**ing kaadu not a rancor, I was joking by riding it into combat, **edit** her) and became a real **edit**
The only thing "overpowerd" about the CM is the Range at which they can use their attacks, out to 92M in some cases. The devs have said that they will be brought back into the same range limitations as the other combat classes.
Problem solved.

Shandale you don't sound very good at pvp.
I'm not, I just made master rifles 3 days ago, after 4 months of having the game(one month I was on vaca). I can't stand grinding so it took me a while.
Excuse me maybe i missed something, you were an uber buffed master rifleman and you couldnt take down a CM? Something isnt right here, As a Master rifleman myself,I fire once every second and with HS2 dealing close to 300 dmg every shot, but since this is PVP lets just say you used HS3 for slightly more damage. How could you as well as several others not withstand a simple DOT like poison and disease . Its doesn't harm you right away, hence the title DOT.
You alsomentioned thathe would thentake out his pistol and fire at the mind pool when you were hurt from the poisons and diseases, just putting it on the table, pistols dont have specials that hit mind specifically, so in other words this is impossible, unless he just got lucky every time, which is possible...
In conclusion, either you were not uber buffed, the CM had several friends helping him, your not a master rifleman, this never happened and you got some beef with a CM somewhere, or whatever else. In reality there is no way an un buffed CM could take on commandos, riflemen, and everyone else that was in your group at one time without even once having his/her attribute go below 1/2.
If its not too much trouble please try to explain what happened a little more accurately, justso I can betterunderstand this problem of yours a little better.
