Thread: The Imperial Crackdown
Hmm, from what I have read Fishak, Glucose pate, and Ryshcate are on the way out of the game. Of the foods I have seen reported, none of them take the place of any of these(none buff focus). There is one that heals the mind, but with the new combat system we will not be "damaging" our mind by using specials, so this is not a replacement in my eyes.
This means we will be even more dependent on muon( I currently have 23 crates in my backpack, lol). Riflemen who currently use food instead of spice will probably be on spice after the foods are removed. So with the crackdown coming and more of us using spice, it doesn't look good.

....For that matter, I think there could be a very interesting new trade in used sliced weapons & spices as people load & unload before venturing near the bigger cities. You may have to travel "clean" and load up at a disreputable shop outside of town once you arrive. Could be kinda fun.
Hmmm....
This isn't a bad idea. Have a vendor shop where you LEASE weapons. You would have to leave a large deposit, which you would get back when you return the weapon, minus a fee to cover profit plus wear and tear on the weapon.
But what happens when you want to return the weapon but the dealer isn't online?
Make a true business out of it, have a vendor tent on the outskirts of town that will sell weapons for a little higher then normal and accept them for a little lower then normal. It would take awhile to get a good reputation but you might just get some regulars coming by to get good sliced guns. Maybe even do this on all the starter worlds and a few of the rimward ones and you can corner the market by being first...shoot why dont I craft weapons?

if the empire wants to harrass one of their elite covert operatives they are going to have to open a buncha new recruiting offices to replace the dead grunts...
But its supposed to be a 'surprise'
Hopefully this patch is introduced on a day I don't have time to play so everyone else can learn the hard way...

Brings up a great saying: "You can try to take my knife, but you won't get it hilt-first." Credit to Robin Hobb on that one, I think.
too many quotes to include, but about the shop -
I don't know if a vendor could handle taking stuff in, so maybe you'd need to get a few friends together on it just to cover the counter. The problem would be deciding what you want to pay for weapons based on condition & overall quality - I can see it being like a really nasty pawn shop with tons of junk lying around. The seedier the tent or building, the better. Maybe no vendors at all - just a cash and carry business, on the sly. Maybe with everyone at the counter having the "fixer" title!
How about: "You can try to take my rifle, but youI'll have to takethe bullets first."
