Ya, thats kuz you aren't a master. I mastered pistoleer, and it wasn't too much of a problem. Step one, climb the techniques tree. Step 2, fanshot everything till master. Rifle sucked serious ass untill i got to master. Holy crap, when i got to master, i fell off my chair. Master rifle is amazing.

When i saw the title of the thread, i thought you were saying rifle dabblers like pistoleers dabble in bh and visa versa. Lol, rifle has a completely useless tree, and no speed untill master. Man im glad im not still trying to climb any more. It took me forever to get the exp for master, then once i mastered, i hit the exp cap in about an hour and a half on dantooine killing pickets.

You are right though, dabblers dont get the coveted damage mitigation III of masters. Laser rifles become almost inconsequential against 60% mitigation, and to get the min damage of t21's up, you need to put a +30 mind cost stock on them.

First max out your mind stats. Before a fight eat corellian ice cream and breath of heaven. Then take muon gold. Now your all set to spam anything for the next 10 minutes and your mind pool will not move a bit. Most PVP doesn't last more than a couple minutes anyway. I'm a Doc also so I am always fully buffed, full of food and drugged up. Plus I'm Zabrack so I have Equilibrium to heal my mind if it gets low. Lol once I walked up to 11 rebels with pets plus a jedi and they had masters. They knocked me down 3 times and I still Death blowed 5 of them. Too bad I didn't get the jedi.

The worst part about being a rifleman is the downtime. I hunt primaily with a BH, Smuggler and a Carbaneer. After clearing out our targets they are always ready to go. I either have to have a seat or wait for my puking to stop (Muon). While its true we can be uber for a short time it's the unhealable mind pool that kills us (HS3). Just my 2 cents.

While I am currently working on mastering rifleman, I am also master pistoleer and master tka. Since I cannot say what damage will be like at master rifleman I can say as master pistoleer using tissue fwg5 I have done over 400k exp in an hour.


While I will have rifle pistol and tka master tittles at same time have to say I will miss medic and feign incap. But then with all the defense mods not too many in pvp will ever be able to take me one on one. And as for pve so far the only mob that has killed me is krayt dragons since having just 2 master elite tittles.


The thing is first people wanted to nerf dabblers ok so they made changes to slow that down result I will now be master of 3 combat profs. I will ultimately be far more powerful then if they had just let me continue to dabble. As soon as others like me with a tripple threat start apearing more I just know someone will start saying we are too powerful and need to nerfed. Ultimately losers being the whinners they are will always complain till we are all cloned with the same abilities.

sorry, i was refferring to the people that dabble and make **edit**ty builds, instead of mastering something worthwhile. i myself am master rifle. and with the rest of my points i have a fairly unstoppable build. heres what i'm currently (and almost at) working towards.


master rifle


tka 4/0/0/4


fencer 4/3/0/0


smuggler 0/0/3/0


medic 2/0/0/0


not sure if thats exactly it, but when its done i'll have about 190 ranged and melee defense, wewt

with the new 'combat balance' that was hinted at in the "in development" forum (i believe thats where) all the combat classes are going to be getting nerfed/balanced, i wouldn't say rifleman are only going to get it. Im rather excited, no more one combo (wont name it here, yall should be able to guess) dominating pvp completely. However it will be a shame if the combat balance foils our pve prowess.







p.s. rifleman/fencer bah sorry can't keep it secret, just too good.

w00t my holo said fencer, so i was gunna do it with master rifleman as i almost got it


almost mastered ch but tbh with conceal shot i can solo anything without the need to tank, so i wont be keeping it.
