Depends on what you consider "best". Best DPS? Ya probably. Best specials? For PvP? For PvE? Id say we are last in specials. ala no KD

KD is not the end-all-be-all of fighting. I get KD/dizzied all the time, and I still don't die (throw the stand command in your hot key and CAREFULLY press it until you're back up. Sometimes you'll be permastuck, but usually 3-6 tries will have you back up in about 3-4 seconds). Plus KD is only a delay tactic if you can't dizzy your opponent. As a pure rifleman, before I starting picking up some melee skills to offset that old nasty 2.5x damage thing, the only ranged class that I would consistently lose to was a master bounty hunter (which is what should happen, BHs use up so many SP that they'd **edit** well better be kicking my ass).


The real truth of the matter is that you will consistently lose to people that wisely pick multiple supporting combat classes if you do not do this yourself.

Master Rifleman box is the other profession we use to even ourselves out.

noone has mentioned one combo that works ridiculously well - Rifleman/Doctor


Doc's have the mind stats to deal with the special attack mind drain, and can buff themselves for the other stat hits. As long as you've got a tank of some type with you, you can do some serious damage. It's a better combo than doc/pistoleer as far as i'm concerned - you can stay out of the aggro range. One man's opinion.

He hit the nail on the head.


If say BH LLC line was based on rifles ( which would make perfect since) There would be a corespoding reduction in strait rifleman power if not with the first publish Very very quickly after when people would see just how powerfull rifle would be with a profession that suplements it.


Pistoleer needs BH to spd cap(not by much though) and have a strong targeted pool shot ( actualy 2 unless they move eyeshot to master) or smugler to use the best shots that can be done with a pistol.


Carbineer needs BH to have a dizzy for them to be a crowd control prof again or to even come close to the spd cap (master carbineer would need a carbine with a spd of 0.25 to hit the spd cap on criple shot and that is not going to happen)


Where us rifleman get to almost spd cap on the slowest weapons with just master marksman and have a 5x shot on the highest damage weapons around (not counting commando weapons or LLC because they NEVER spd cap or even get close) Have a nice set of very powerful bleadsand shotsto a almost unhealable pool.


Be happy rifleman doesnt stack or there would be no way to escape the NERF bat and be expected to take up that new prof to be effective as pistol and carbine are.

you can KD an opponent, you just dont have it in 1 shot. dizzy and suppression fire1 = posture change when dizzied = flop over.


Rifleman / Ranger complement each other in PVE by using the camo kits and tracking, and in PVP by tracking (you become true snipers then, stalk and snipe).


Rifleman /Squad Leader. Believe it or not, just having a little mouse droid when solo so you can be 'a group' will let you use Steady Aim (improves accuracy), will give you +30 to ranged and melee defenses and does make you even more useful in a group, for being the rifleman means you stay 'behind' the rest of the group supporting it and having the time to spot the enemy medics or threats and taking them out.


Rifleman / Smuggler. You can drug your mind silly, you get low blow and panic shot (useful as 'sidearm' specials for when the fight gets close). You can slice stuff to get some extra cash.


Rifleman / Combat Medic . Mind Bleed, Mind Poison, Mind Disease... ouch.


Rifleman / CH . In PvP you can just send in the 3 GSP's and snipe away.. it buys you time.. plus CHs now can order specials on pets.. get yourself some KD or poison pets and you got yourself a happy rifleman.


Rifleman / Architect : Blow their heads off then drop a monument on top of them to celebrate your victory. (no , really. in player cities ive seen an architect drop a house on someone's corpse and name it 'In this Spot (architects name) Killed (victim's name). Was kinda funny.

Yes BH/Carbineer templets are gret butno more so than most toped out PVP templents.


Yes Pistoleer needs BH to spd cap they have a 70% without bh so take a dx2 with a spd slice for a gun with 1.9 spd then fire stoping shot with a 4.7x delay so a native spd of (1.9*4.7 =8.93) now we have 2 types of pistoleers option one with master marksman and option 2 without


1) 79% spd reduction so our 8.93 native spd becomes 1.875 sec


2) 74% spd reduction so the 8.93 becomes 2.32sec


Fan shot is a 4x delay so both of pistoleers good shots are closer to one shot every 2 sec than one shot a sec at the cap. A prepatch FWG spd sliced (1.2spd) still leaves pistols slowre than the spd cap. Im not going in to the nubers for rifleman cause the more times we post it the more likly the nerf but haveing done BH, Pistoleer, and most of carbineer there is a reson im back to rifles
