Thread: Why have the devs left a freaking rifle without a cert FOR ALMOST A YEAR!!??

That is NOT the Heavy Acid Rifle...it looks exactly...and i mean identical to it, but it doesn't have the Heavy Acid Rifle name, and the speed on a HAR is much slower, and its damage is much higher...But yes, they are identical in looks.
It is a weapon from beta, it was what is now the heavy acid rifle, hence the same exact look, it's not as powerful because they never fixed it along with all the other heavy weapons since it was meant to be obsolete.
Also, notice it's ideal range is 0m...

Basically, it's a relic from old commando design, I imagine they wanted it to be kinda like a rifle LP for commandos, but for some reason decided to make it into the utterly useless HAR (ironic, isn't it?)

Heck, to tell you the truth. I think it would be cool to up the damage, make it alot slower (like a power up time) and make it blast damage.
BOOOOOMMM! Would be kinda neat in my opinion.

grr, we need a change in rifles. Hopefully this disruptor rifle will be good

exactly right, the HAR tree as it is now used to be the grenade crafting tree, and basically had no beam rifle specials and was just a weapon you got certed for at novice commando, like the launcher pistol, it had no specials. Then when they decided grenade crafting is better for weaponsmiths they redesigned the weapon into the HAR and gave it specials....but never taking out the beam rifle.

does this mean the HAR works with rifle specials too? Like the Launcher Pistol? If it did it would give a good reason to use the HAR instead of the Flamethrower...
That would be great if the HAR worked with rifle mods and specials like the LP does. Unfortunately when the HAR replaced the BR they didn't update the mods properly so you never get any increase to speed or accuracy passed novice.

Commandos get the: Heavy Particle Beam, Heavy Acid Beam, and Lightning Beam Cannon...no Beam Rifle...the BEAM rifle doesn't have a cert...yet another thing the dev's messed up.

Ah the dev's will probably slap a cert on it sometime in the future just for craps and giggles, also remember this one was probably made with low grade resources.

They should give it a certification and change its damage type to Electricity and then fix the other rifles as well.
