Thread: Master Rifleman
Thereare plenty of ways to take down a Riflemen.
Mindshot is avery good way to debilitate another Riflemen(especially a Master that isn't paying enough attention)
Eye Shot works extremly well, every time a Riflemen uses a special to shoot back at the Bounty Hunter they're a little more screwed.
A well aimed AT-ST will kill anything. Any faction pet is a good expendable unit to send ahead and soak up damage before you move in for the kill.
Knockdown will still be an effective way of keeping any other player out of the action for a while. It just wont be such a complete PvP strategy.
Grouped and Covert melees are the ultimate Riflemen killer.
Agreed on the melee defence thing, people complain about the 2.5x damage enough as it is, this helps us if we are silly enough to let something get close. Well it would if it worked well. ![]()
The most common ways I die as a master is 1) I drain my mind from specials, and get hit. 2) eyeshot or mind/headshot.3) knockdown

Agreed, I only die to other than those when I've either been stupid, or run into a group of 5+ rebels.
I'm starting to think master rifleman isn't as overpowered as I first thought in big battles. What you can do is very limited by your mind(I'm not zabrak so I'm not sure if that would change it).
One on one however the only things that scare me are eyeshot and knockdown.
I am a novice rifleman with the first box in each tree trained, plus the 2nd one in the 1st path. I hadn't intended on mastering rifleman until I dueled a master rifleman in my guild. I bought a T21 with 7.2 speed and put in a damage powerup and I sold him the equivalent rifle. He got off 8 shots and I got off 2..needless to say he took me out . We were both prone at 62meters. That was to awesome..master rifleman here i come!

Though I have found a nice niche in my guild hunts. I basically play the role of Creature Protector. If you're doing a high-level hunt, you have some tanks. That's a given. And they tend to run all over. So I generally follow the MOBs agro-ing the tanks and pick them off with Flushing Shots. It stuns then, which helps the tank last longer, and it deals damage to the same pools as the tank is dealing, so they die quicker and the tanks (which your group badly needs) take less damage. Also, since there are few other people attacking these MOBs, the XP is very good.
Yes once u have reached master...or even move up some boxes in the Rifle Spec branch u will notice a big difference...and yes you will need patient because it will take you a lot longer to level than pistol...although if they put in that proposed speed cap...i really don't know if its worth it any longer fer novices to aim fer master level...

Devrak,or anyone with the speed cap put in, getting the Rifle Spec up to IV. Will I still shoot at a fast rate. Eg, if I have a Laser rifle that fires once every 6 secs, how speed would I fire at Rifle Spec IV?
