Thread: What's a good template/Sec. Profession to go along with Rifleman?
I will have to agree that rifleman/CM would be unstoppable so long as you can get buffs.
I used to be CM/doc and could solo groups of 7-10 people...master combat classes too. I would get plenty of the usual "h4x" and whiners. The only problem I had was what to do betweem my first throw and when the +1 mind came. With this you will make their life shorter when you can deal this much damage to their mind, and you will be fully capable of hitting their mind to take the last point.
When I'm done, I'll have the following:
Master TKA | Master Rifleman | Smuggler 2140 | Medic 0100
To me, this is a great PVE and PVP template. Needless to say, in PVP it equals up close and ranged death. In PVE it's the same really. In PVE I can conceal shot kill lots of the big stuff solo (although it takes a while) and most other stuff I can blast till it rushes me, then unleash TMK hell on it. I almost exclusively target the mind pool with either the rifle or my VK's. In PVP I love brawlers thinking they can rush me. I kite for a bit to get mind bleeds stacked and then stop and mind hit till dead, after KD + Dizzy/Warcry of course. In PVE it's pretty much the same..start with rifle and finish with TK skills.
This template gives me everything I need to play the combat game the way I like to:
- Defense: Awesome ranged and melee defenses...lots of attacks miss me.
- Damage: Best ranged and melee damage in the game.
- Targeted damage: Focused on unhealable mind damage with bleeds, headshot and melee mind hit.
- Ranged deathblow with snipershot: I cannot say how huge this is, especially in large fights. No longer do I have to run into a crowd of enemies to get a deathblow...I do it from afar.
- Powerboost: Self buffing when no doctor is around is great. My alt is MD so it only addes to my buffness most times.
- Meditation: I heal all wounds, including mind wounds at a rate of about 30 wounds per second. No wound packs needed here. Cantina is only needed for BF heals and mind buffs.
- Force of will: Got incapped and about to die? Guess again. I rise to my feet and slay you just when you thought you had me with this skill.
- Dirty fightint IV: In over your head and facing sure death? Feign death and wait for help in PVP, or for the critters to wander away in PVP. This skill will be priceless again when corpse runs come back to the game. (I heard rumblings of this after PVP decay is removed). I also get ranged 10 second delay, ranged knockdown and a good pistol damage shot if I ever decide to use my pistols.
- Underworld I and II: Finally got deathblown? Well with UW II I lose about 23 faction instead of 45, which can make a big difference in long PVP fights. Oh and I get 10% off my faction purchases.
- Slicing I: I make more money on my missions which is always good.
There are many cool skills in that template and so far it's a blast to play. I chose to supplement TKM and MR with smuggle skills cause I used to be master smuggler which I really liked for it's versatility. Also good with TKM and Master rifle IMO:
- Master marksman and commando flame line for more ranged defense, speed, accuracy and the flamethrower and flame dots.
- Master brawler for warcry2, intimidate2, lunge2
It also is used for both novice commando and novice smuggler lines, so as an investment in the future. It was a wise choice.

hmm. if you stack master rifleman with master commando all you have is two very offensive professions. rifleman is already extremely offensive, if you're going to stack, the best way i've seen is to master a melee profession- and the two most defensive are TKM and Fencer. /shrug if you want "the ultimate uberness" it seems like a nobrainer.

I disagree with the CM Rifleman combo. All your shots take away mind...and so do all your diseases and poisons...I personally went CH rifleman. Thats my take.
Mmmmm.. dunno.. It depends on what you want to do.. If you want to solo / grouphunt then CH / Rifleman is a good combo but if you want to PVP the CH is pretty much redundant, your pets'll get wiped out pretty quick in a big scuffle.
I'm hoping to try TKM with Rifleman and if I'm not satisfied I will probably go Master Heavy Swordsman. Ithink either one of those combos will be pretty good in PVE and veryuseful in PVP.
I already have Master Marksman, and in addition to Rifleman, i am going for Squad Leader, mainly for the group missions/attacks my guild participates in. Since SL uses a lot of HAM, you need to stay back if you use the special attacks and commands. Staying back is a Rilfeman specialty, so you get to pound on the guys.
Also, grouping w/ a pistoleer is good, becuase they have Stoping shot. Verry cool thing.
