Thread: Wow, everyone and their mom is going rifle now
Where is the huge game imbalance that would point toward the Devs taking and interest in nerfing any template currently? There is none. Why? Because right now you have 4 major combat templates that are actually working - TKM, Master Combat Medic, Master Rifleman, Master Fencer ( once they increase the Gunslingers speed, you can add them to that list too ). The job of this upcoming combat pass will be to bring other professions up to the levels current enjoyed by these 4; let's remember that when they nerfed the CHs they went into a 2 month discussion period to prepare everyone for the change.
When a Dev or Thunderheart posts about how we need to be "tuned down" then, maybe, we need to worry. Until then, just go play the game and try to have fun....
Yeah it sucks for me the richer people on Valcyn can get the rifleskill attachments once they decided to go rifle and i can't get the good onse
I guess i wont be saying "The Few The Proud The Marines er um Rifleman"

I really don't see how you're going to take them out on health or action damage, add to that the lack of stun protection on a lot of composite and you are left with very few classes that can kill them as well as a rifleman.
If they fix the bonus to hit us in melee penalty so it works then it might go someway to stopping the flood of riflemen, however I have a feeling rifle is heading towards a large nerf.
I think Selfyn hit the nail on the head. Again
.
Even if they go rifleman doesnt necessarily mean they're good, saw some newly cooked Master Rifleman, most of them dont even knowthat they're doing. Mostly engage superior numbers in PvP, once in a while one of those newbs sneak up on me (in a crowd its kind of hard to tell whos who), but once they blow their cover and let themselves known as rifleman I write their name down and make sure next time theyget incapedfirst. Tend to win most of 1 on 1 rifleman duels. Just cracks me up how lot of them manage their HAMs during combat. I think most of newbs would just get frustrated and quit. No matter what I always would remain rifleman, since I'm not much of a teamplayer anyway mostly hunt alone, and rifleman suits my lone stalking calculating self just fine. Was in love with rifles since game's launch, made master about 1 month ago. Even before making master still managed fairly well (back then it was all about surprise)Its funny now you barely get to see overt rebs on Sunrunner, suspect a lot of them grinding rifle. Before nowadays there were only handfull of rifleman. Always felt that rifleman belonged to a small dedicated elite. Now all these countless former commandoes and BH grinding away, onlyto be frustrated once they get done hehe. They just dont realize howfrustratingand fragile our profession is. I pity them.

lol...........love it when you see someone in pvp with a composite helmet on. First off you know they have some severe penalties for just wearing it. Then you whip out your Jawa Ion Rifle, and bang they are incapped..........................If I meet a BH spamming eyeshot I might throw my helmet on, but not til then.
Holo's helped make us fotm...If it wasnt for the grindersour community would have stayed nice and small, and the word wouldnt have got around so quickly about how good we can be.We will be nerfed hard soon.. though personally i dont really care. Not really one for taking the best class - it just happens that the one class I wanted to master turned out to get a nice skill boost along the way. Ill actually be glad when most ppl drop it for what ever the next uber template is. Be niceto have ppl point and laugh again like they did when wewere a rarity on a server.. now i just see a sea of VK's and T21's everywhere i go.
I also kinda miss the 2.5x melee damage modifier.. made life interesting. I just dont get that "oh sh1toh sh1toh sh1t!!"feeling anymore when a large critter chargesme down. Ho hum.

Hehe I always loved the "its going to take me two shots to kill this mob/player, but he's 20m away, can I hit him before I get incapped?" line of thought I sometimes got.
All you guys are lucky if you still have composite on your server with stun vuln. On Starsider, about 2 weeks ago, a magical resource shifted in that allowed STUN LAYERED COMPOSITE to be made. Every good PvPer has a 70% stun, 70% energy, 80% everything else helm, chest etc.
So the jawa is only good for its speed, which is faster then the T21. Stun composite changed the dynamics of the Starsider playing field.
