Sorry I didnt mention. She kicked my butt hard! I was buffed and she wasnt, though both of us didnt wear armor. I got a few hits in, but she just healed them. I couldnt get a KD off on her or a dizzy. Headshots just missed all over the place.

So you didn't wear armour against a pistoleer / fencer?
Try and stun them, it works wonders.

It's funny how someone spending 200+ skillpoints to make a very defensive character is overpowered and yet I don't see much calling for doctor buffs to be nerfed. (FYI I have access to a buffbot so I would lose out more than most if doctor buffs were nerfed, it doesn't stop them being overpowered.)

Nope not saying that I should win. I was actually planning on losing. What Im surprised about was that I couldnt get many hits in. I think I read somewhere that intimidate counters that. Do I need to stun also for that to work?

I guess my question is for the master rifle folk. How do you folks fair against pistoleer / rogues with fencing dodge added in?

Have to agree with the last poster, that person is master of TWO elite professions, they should be kicking your ... if you have not even mastered one.

It's really going to suck IMO when that person is no better at combat than someone who is also a master armoursmith.

So what you're saying is you SHOULD have beaten a Master Pistoleer even though you haven’t mastered your own??? I think there's a perception problem here. A "Master" is just that...a "Master" as his/her profession. Should they be invincible...no! But they should be tough as hell especially when someone of lesser skills is engaging them.

hey genius.. he didn't say anything about " why couldn't i beat..."

he said "i couldn't hardly HIT..."

he was just asking if your hit rate goes up at master...

intimidate disables dodge for the duration of the intimidate.

And if you STILL couldnt hit him then you should look at the accuracy mod of your gun and the range you were fighting with.

I carry 2 different T21's on me. One is very high damage with the standard +10 @60m mod (and high negatives under, low negatives at 64m) and one thats low damage but its +50 @60m (goes to +75 with accuracy powerup).

I use the big hitter for mind bleeds , the other one for normal combat. Ive faced people that have 198 ranged defense AND dodge and they get hit much more than they dont. Intimidate cures dodge very nicely. (im tka 4.0.0.4 too, master rifleman).

Another rifle I carry is my +73 @50m E11 rifle and my +20 @ 20m jawa ion . All are relatively low in damage stats, but they hit constantly. besides, its better in pvp to fire off a 200 damage headshot every second that HITS than a 500 damage headshot per second that misses.

'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Thanks, BlasterforHire, for making my point.

One of the defensive skill mods I get at Master Pistoleer is a high dodge number. Thats my character's defense. Just the same as when I try to knockdown TKAs...it seems to always get resisted.

The trouble is that defence stacking requires people to adapt their tactics, and it's much easier to just whine and get it nerfed. (not saying this is what the first poster was doing.)

Once stuned I hit defence stackers a fair amount.

to the person who said "Dodge doesn't stack"

yes it does. the reason people were saying "dodge doesn't stack" after the last patch is because the accuracy on creatures/NPC's in the game was turned up.

I have a wookiee friend who is master pistoleer - he just finished mastering fencer and we re-tested his dodge - without disabling his defenses (with intimidate/blind/stun,etc) he would dodge almost all my master rifleman shots.

of course, i'm a master rifleman, master fencer, tka myself - so this is fine, and i've learned how to get around defenses as other people have stated

it's stupid to disable defense stacking (especially since they won't disable offense stacking) beucase as seflyn stated - a master rifleman/armorsmith is now just as effective as a master rifleman/fencer. where's the sense in that?

but , if they do turn off defense stacking, it frees up skillpoints I otherwise have invested in defense - hah! maybe i'll get scout again.

a few things to get around defenses:

/aim

/kneel (if situation permits)

/prone (if situation permits)

bleed shots

intimidate (this is best)

blind

stun (to some extent)

use weapons experimented to max accuracy (this is best in combination with the other methods)

TKM's have +205 accuracy, they can hit just about anything anytime, fairly consistantly.

BH/pistoleers and BH/carbineers have around 200 accuracy as well (over 200 for carbineers)

and fencing scatterhits cut through defenses more often than not.

i'm not making your point, voodoo.. i'm disputing your inference that it's ok that he can't HIT you, much less beat you.

i agree that if you've mastered one or more elite professions, if the combat system were balanced properly, you should be extremely difficult to beat by a non elite master.

however, you should not be virtually invulnerable, as some of these defense stacking dabblers are.

my only point to the original poster was "at Master Rifleman, you can hit the defense stackers more often". period. i followed that up by pointing out that the original poster was not complaining that he couldn't beat his opponent, as you inferred.
