Thread: Bowcasters: Do they really suck?
Bowcasters are decent when you begin. But once you can use a Laser Rifle it's better to switch.
There is a looted Bowcaster on my server that is fantastic. Max damage is over 1k. Not exactly sure where he got it from. Suspect it was from a Dark Jedi Master or a Nightsister.
haven't heard from devs when i petitioned the bowcaster 7 months ago....they just want to wookiees to be in the game for their own amusement now

Certainly is a krayt enhanced bowcaster - a good set of tissues, with feeder mech enhancement and a 31% damage slice. I tell you I was sweating making it, sweating experimenting it, and sweating waiting on the slice. I was kneeling, chanting praises to Kashyyyk, and sacrificed 3 T-21's to appease the God of Useless Mid-Teen Speed Slices before handing this puppy over to get a slice. Now I am trying to get a powerup with 0.3% more on damage because by darn I want to break 700. I don't think I can do it though, already using 32.83% max.
This thing is a monster for applying bleeds - and who can argue a mind cost of 44 on applying the bleeds with this profile?
I too, sincerely hope we get a better bowcaster, because even with the extra high end loot that went into it and with a very nice damage slice, the same components (saving the feed) would make a similar profiled Laser Rifle and that has AP2 - could even get it without the krayts, just stocked and a great damage slice Though with mitigation the Laser Rifles cop a huge performance hit.
Oh, I'm on Gorath, by the way.
I know the cons of the caster (I have been making them since August, after all) - strange damage type considering it fires explosive bolts, lack of AP, poor range modsfor a rifle, but I don't care. Bowcaster power!
