Thread: Pikets, yeah right
First, do not bother taking cover with Picketts. Takecover only adds to your defenses. It does not make you harder to detect, so it is only useful if you are under fire from a ranged attack. Pickets do not have a ranged attack, so you gain no benefit from /Takecover when hunting Picketts.
Second, prone is good (until they aggro on you). Prone doesmake you harder to detect, but also make sure youat least 40m from the target. Closer and you will be detected. Further back is better. Be at least 60m and prone, and they should not detect you under most circumstances when using Concealshot.
Third, one of the circumstances you can be detected is if you miss twice. Are you paying attention to your shots when you are spamming Concealshot? If not, you may be missing twice, which will cause an aggro. If you miss, stop attacking that creature for a time. Try again after a bit.
Check your rifle'sideal range. That is the best distance, provided you are at least 40m from them. Watch the aim modifier next to the target's HAM. It should be a postive number that is as close to +50 as you can get it. Be prone and as close to your weapon's ideal range as possible and you will get your best normal aim modifier. Of course, the target's posture will also affect this (if they are prone, your modifer goes down). Until you start climbing the Accuracy line, you should probably spam /aim;/concealshot rather than just /concealshot. Aim will take a little longer, but it will improve your aim modifier for the next shot.
And they added a concealment chance modifier recently. It builds as you get higher in the profession. This should not affect Concealshot as it is supposed to relate to whether or not you can single pull a creature from a group with any of our other shots. We have never gotten clear word whether or not this affects Concealshot, but we have been anticpating a silent nerf to Concealshot with this (i.e., that Concealshot will start working better as you get higher in the tree). It may be that this is part of the problem as well. I do not think this is it, but who knows. I suspect it is a combintation of your position and your accuracy.
One final thing. People from many professions have been noticing small, random bleeds occuring with some non-bleed shots at times. This is likely related to wounds. If a bleed happens with Concealshot, the bleed will cause the creature to aggro. When they aggro, check for a bleed. It is not likely happening all that often, but this may be part of it. If you notice it a lot, switch to a rifle with a lower wound %, and it may less this type of occurence.
well....who wants 3 holos for 2.2 mil. because this holo profession is not going to happen. I'll see you guys later. I'm done with this crap aggro. Back to my Flamethrower.

4. untrained wielder of the dark side
5. dark force crystal hunter

Low resists, no poison or disease and well paid missions make these mobs very well suited for grinding up a second profession.
It's a bit silly if the con system still doesn't take into account that someone with master doc buffs + 70% ubese + the bonuses from their first combat profession will find pikets quite a bit easier than someone still working on their first combat profession with none of these advantages.
This is true... "Fierce Picket Protectors" I could understand being in there.. they are considerably tougher to kill.
10. Stormtrooper
Probably shouldn't be there either.. Your average Stormie isn't all that tough.. Dark Troopers on the other hand.......
But I digress, I don't want to hijack this thread. Everything I was going to suggest was already suggested by others with quicker fingers
. Unless there was some changes to the Conceal Chance when using conceal shot I'm not sure why it's not working as it used to.

You have a flamer?? Things get REAL easy then. Look for things with 100% Heat resists and lay the burn on em.
Go to Dathomir/Endor. On Dath, rancor have 100% heat resists, but the Flame DOT will do damage regardless of resists. Put a burn on em, then put some rifle rounds in em. Since they are 100% heat resists, and bleeds don't count for xp, you can destroy them REAL easy with a decent tank/set of armor and get 4k xp or so per.
Same goes for critters on Endor, they give less xp but most of em don't DB, and they do half the damage of Rancors. They are 10k missions on the terms (Not the gleaming latern birds, the lairs are the bramble type), can't remember their bloody names, butthey look likeSwirl Prongs. You should be able to get 150K+ exp per hour easy. That'll make things REAL fast.
He's one of my Wookiee bretheren so the Devs say...
No armor for you.... ONE YEAR!
But a Tank Pet is a possibility.
