If you are given a location that isn't random. However it is not always an assassination either. Soldiers are given waypoints and told to take out targets at that location on a regular basis. Does that make them assassins?

No because they are fighting in a war, but like many many people have mentioned what if I take a mission for a NPC which has nothing to do with the GCW then I am paid to go and assassinate those NPCs. Like my dictionary definition says its to kill a prominent person by surprise attack... I argue that these NPCs are prominent within there faction (please do not reply about the GCW, Im on about jabba or valerain etc etc many others NOT imps or rebs) and using conceal shot I am killing them by surprise. Am I right to say that rifle man are the only class who can kill without the target knowing about it, not even bounty hunter has a non aggro special attack.... therefore we are assassinating them

Slient Assasin should be the title of that tree...... or other names to that effect... Contract Killer etc etc

Saying that the target is prominent in the faction is an assumption. If I contract you to kill a low level mail clerk at a Fortune 500 company, is that an assassination? How was that subject prominent?

An assassination isn't just to kill a prominent person, it's to murder them. Which means it's an illegal act.

It is possible for other professions to kill a target without being noticed. A couple of examples. If firing from prone you can usually get off two or three shots before being noticed. If the target is killed within those shots have you not killed the target without the target knowing it? Granted it isn't a special attack, but it does fit your requirements.

Also if the target is aggro'd on another target does it notice you? If I attack it while it's attacking something else have I not surprised and killed it without getting attacked in return?

You see, to assassinate doesn't mean to kill without being detected. It means to initiate the attack with surprise. If it meant to kill without being detected then John Wilkes Booth wasn't an assassin. Jumping down on the stage and make his statement made pretty sure he was detected. John Hinkley is an attempted assasin. He attacked with surprised but after that initial shot or two he was detected and taken down.

If you want a term for someone that kills without being detected, then sniper is a far better choice than assassin. Sniper is also a military term which means it fits in better with our existing titles. Gunner, Soldier, and Sharpshooter are all also military titles.

Webster : Assassinate (emphasis added)

1 : to injure or destroy unexpectedly and treacherously
2 : to murder by sudden or secret attack usually for impersonal reasons

I assigned values for 1st/2nd/3rd place votes for 3/2/1. But I'm also including raw numbers. Form will be pont total followed by 1st/2nd/3rd place votes

A) Hunter 5 (1/0/2)
B) Sniper 123 (27/13/6)
C) Assassin 119 (25/12/10)
D) Silent Assassin 68 (8/12/10)
E) Ghost 81 (14/12/15)
F) Wraith 38 (4/8/10)
G) Bushmaster 16 (0/6/4)
H) Recon Specialist 65 (11/10/12)
I) Predator 30 (3/8/5)

B) Move "Sniper" from the accuracy branch and make it the "Concealment" branch title. In the "Accuracy" branchput"Sharpshooter" and for Master box put "Master Rifleman"

Q3P0 told me Master Sharpshooterwill indeed be changed to Master Rifleman and Novice Sharpshooterwill now say "Novice Rifleman"

From what I understand he will pick between our 2 top winning suggestion.
